Job Description: THE COMPANY:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a highly successful, UK leading manufacturing business based in Wetherby. The company has been through significant growth in the last 3 years, and is therefore now looking to bring in a knowledgeable and experienced Management Accountant, into a standalone role, reporting directly to the Finance Director.


This role will offer broad exposure of the management accounts, and have the benefit of reporting directly to the FD, while also being supported by an Accounts Assistant.

This role would therefore be ideally suited to an AAT Qualified or Qualified by experience Management Accountant looking for a varied, standalone role within a growing, local SME.

The key duties of this role will include:

Management Accounts

Produce and present an accurate set of monthly Management Accounts within the given timescales.
Produce and post all management accounting journals including wages, accruals and prepayments.
Investigate any variances to budget and provide narrative explanations.
Responsibility for the quarterly VAT return.
Responsibility for the monthly statutory returns including EC Sales & Intrastat.
Assist the Finance Director with monthly payroll duties.
Quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliations and post any corrections needed.
Responsibility for keeping the Fixed Asset register up to date.
Production of yearly budgets.
P11D filings.
Act as audit lead at year end.
Champion the use and knowledge of Sage 200.

Cash & Bank

Responsibility for keeping the company's cash flow up to date.
Sterling bank reconciliations.
Cash Book management.
Act as a bank authorisation for separation of duties.
Cash Book postings.

Sales Ledger

Supervision of the sales ledger management and credit control function.
Assistance with cash receipt postings.


Drive expenditure budgeting process and assist Finance Director in building and presenting annual budgets.
Supervision of the cash & credit card expense postings.
Lead quarterly Finance Meetings for management team, providing updates on spend, cashflow and budgets.
Assist the Finance Director with any ad-hoc duties.


The successful candidate will:

Have a minmum of 2 years management accounts, including cash flow experience - Essential
Be AAT Qualified or qualified by experience - Essential
Have previous knowledge of Sage 200 - Desirable
Have advanced knowledge of MS Excel - Essential
