Job Description:

RPG AS400 Programmer, Warehousing, Mainly home working (Must be South East UK or West Midlands based)

Office is in Surrey - near Weybridge, Guildford, Kingston, Leatherhead, Slough, Bracknell, Farnham etc.

You can work from home 3 weeks of the month and need to be in the Surrey office during on call for one week

Up to £50,000 pa base (Negotiable) + Benefits

Leading specialist in the provision of tailored warehouse fulfilment & returns handling for many high street name customers requires experienced RPG programmer sue to on gong expansion to join an established team or RGP AS400 IBM iSeries developers and require additional technical expertise to help shape the future of these platforms.

The Role:

Develop systems using RPG.

Enhance existing systems by analysing business requirements and identifying areas for modification and improvement.

Ensure personal and team skills are kept up to date and shared through knowledge-sharing exercises

Participate in a small, experienced team on a time pressured development schedule

Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems

Support and maintain the products managed and developed by the team

Required Skills and Experience:

The Software Developer should have had the following experience of at least 5 years of experience in a professional development capacity using RPG - ideally in a warehousing systems environment

Experience of improving processes and ways of working within their teams

Experience in discussing changes with technical and non-technical people

Solid RPG Programming skills

Skill analysing numerical data, verbal data and all other sources of information

Good communication skills - both written and verbal

Demonstrate an understanding of different organisational departments and functions

Ability to produce workable solutions to a range of problems

Sets high standards for quality and quantity

Ability to Focus on customer needs and satisfaction

Ability to understand how one issue may be a part of a much larger system
