ME Engineer

Hunter Global are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a Maintenance Technician to be based at a client site in the Hartlepool Area. The suitable individual will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on complex Electro/Mechanical systems and process equipment that includes Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and pneumatic controls.

General Duties –

  • Work within a Regulatory requirements
  • Process knowledge – relating to WI’s, SOP’s and Manufacturing Records, Create and deliver standard work W/I’s SOP’s SPL’s etc where appropriate.
  • Maintain and repair the equipment to validated specification including Evaluating breakdowns and stoppages and communications in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate sound fault finding Diagnostic ability (Use fault finding tools ie Fishbone 5 Whys C&E etc)
  • Identify root cause and provide solutions to Issues working with relevant resource to resolve
  • Support Set up and changeover of production Process equipment including, Sanitisation and Cleaning of production equipment to validated procedures (If required), Maintaining equipment and assets in a safe, compliant and reliable order.
  • Complete criticality assessments and reliability assessment and Deliver equipment/process improvements
  • Reduce MTTR and Increase MTBF (Identify root cause and Implement corrective measures)
  • Use downtime data to identify downtime issues and opportunities to Improve.
  • Develop Operator skills in respect to equipment operation – (Autonomous maintenance) equipment process knowledge coach and support.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions for equipment issues.
  • Ensure completion of – Maintenance intervention logs and Production logs to required standards

Personal Requirements –

  • Co-operate and communicate with colleagues, supervision and support groups
  • Communicate with colleagues and team leaders at shift handover to ensure any problems are left with full explanation as agreed with PWGL/ Supervisor
  • Be willing and able to coach others (Techs, Ops PWGL’s) and develop understanding of others in equipment use and issues
  • Use predictive maintenance tools and Techniques to reduce equipment breakdown.
  • Provide “hands on” Engineering support within the value streams.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions for equipment issues.
  • Complete and maintain GMP documentation in line with Current Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Coach and promote “Best Engineering Practices” within work group.
  • This position would suit somebody from the Bristol, Weston super mare or Gloucester areas who has been a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Setter, Mechanical Maintainer or maintenance technician, maintenance engineer or Mechanical maintenance technician within FMCG operations

Qualifications –

  • Will ideally hold a Formal Engineering Qualification Mechanical/ Electrical HNC/ HND NVQ level 3 or equivalent BTEC ONC, C&G Technician or equivalent
  • Technical qualifications/engineer – Mechanical apprenticeship, ACS Gas, steam boilers, BG01 training, Electrical certs, 17th edition, refrigeration experience/FGAS Handling Refrigerant, front end controls experience with automation/SCADA etc…
  • Asbestos, Legionella and Electrical safety awareness/training
  • H&S training – IOSH, SMSTS etc….
  • A recognised Building Services / Facilities qualification would be beneficial

Working Hours -

  • This position is Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Hours may vary depending on business requirements, overtime can also available.
  • Will be on a call out rota if required for the business needs
