My Client is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of fruit for the fresh, processed and ingredient market sectors and they are currently seeking an experienced


Overall Job Summary:

To be responsible for the remedial work, planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs and maintaining the buildings, grounds, machinery, plant and processing equipment throughout the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive scheduled tasks for the day for maintenance and repair work

  • Aid in the monitoring and operation of plant equipment and systems

  • Complete scheduled and planned maintenance tasks across the site to ensure continued performance of all plant and machinery

  • Respond to breakdowns, fault find and repair machinery to ensure limited down time of the production lines

  • Aid in the monitoring of contractors on site, permit them and ensure correct standard of work has been achieved

  • Undertake routine safety inspections in line with internal audit procedures liaising with the Compliance Manager where required

  • Ensure that all contractors are aware and observe site H&S regulations and Food Safety rules

  • Aid the Engineering Manager with the control of the onsite fire system

  • Ensure that all planned and scheduled maintenance takes place of the Food Processing Machinery including but not limited to:-

Baggers,  Multi-Head Weighers, Metal Detectors, Check Weighers

Conveyors & Flow Wrappers

  • Complete all necessary Paper work

  • Supervise when required and assist in the training of the Engineering Apprentice

  • Look after the electricity distribution

  • Train and be a fire warden for the business

This role is multi-skilled across electrical and mechanical disciplines.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Mechanical or Electrical qualification

  • Good commercial awareness

  • Work well under pressure

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Be able to work as part of a team

  • Excellent relevant technical knowledge

  • Good leadership skills

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing processes

  • Knowledge of food process-packaging-service equipment

  • Maintenance experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Health and Safety Qualification

  • Food Safety Level 3

  • Self-motivated and proactive

  • Hours of Work

  • Mon - to Fri 6pm - 2.30am
