As Senior Technical Operations Engineer adopting to Dev Ops philosophies, your key responsibilities are to Implement, maintain and upgrade the Microlise Managed Service / Hosted Product, providing essential skills and advice to other areas of the business including;
Administer and maintain information control systems supporting the Managed / Hosted services utilised within Microlise;
Coordinate with Development and other departments to ensure these systems and records remain accurate and available.
Update and maintain information used in upward reporting and analysis
Implement, configure, maintain and upgrade IT systems.
Analyse, diagnose and rectify system or service errors/faults as tasked or expected.
Complete “dry run” testing prior to implementation work and ensure “roll back” functionality
Provide telephone or other, technical support to customers as required.
Act as a medium for effective knowledge transfer between all parties, both internal and external.
MCSE/MCSA/MCITP qualified in Microsoft 2016 Server
Must have current good working skills within the essential areas below;
Operating System: Windows 2016, 2019
Operating System: Linux - CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat
Scripting Skills: Powershell; Ansible
Internet Information Services
Monitoring technologies, SolarWinds Orion, Splunk, Pingdom, Grafana
Coordinate & manage work in Service Now
Able to identify, communicate and prove cost issues and areas of revenue opportunity or improvement at all levels
Full driving licence
Available for On-Call support as required
Containerisation (Docker and / or Windows)
Network protocols: understanding of TCP/IP; DNS etc
