New Product Development Administrator - Food Manufacturing

Location: Normanton, West Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £28K, DOE
Contract: Full time, Permanent

Forza Foods are recruiting for an Administrator with experience working within a New Product Development team within a Food Manufacturing business, this role will report to the New Product Development Manager.

A key part of the New Product Development team, covering all aspects of administration required for the department in addition to providing a link to the technical team for generation of customer specifications.

The New Product Development Administrator also supports the NPD team with sample and trial requirements and customer liaison.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Gathering of information from suppliers and NPD recipes for specifications.
  • Completing relevant paperwork for customer panels
  • Communicating details of new materials to technical and supply chain teams
  • Arranging sample requests.
  • Organizing external lab testing for chemical and micro analysis.
  • Setting up shelf life testing schedules and organoleptic testing on site.
  • Shopping for samples from Asda stores and competitors.
  • Ordering samples from suppliers.
  • Attending panels off site and delivering samples.
  • Coordinating benchmarking and consistency panels.
  • Facilitating weekly NPD meetings, taking and circulating minutes, keeping development launch tracker updated

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of administration duties in a food manufacturing business, preferably in an NPD department.
  • Good computer literacy and general administration skills, proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to adapt to and use specific programs and systems.
  • A good communicator able to liaise with customers, suppliers and colleagues in person, by telephone and e-mail.
  • An understanding of food product formulation and nutritional information.
  • An understanding of food handling and storage practices.

Personal characteristics

  • Driving license and own car essential.
  • Passion for food.
  • Dynamic and resourceful with the ability to fit into a team.
  • Physically able to carry sample boxes, shopping etc.
