Job Title: SALES ASSISTANT
Reports To: Sales Floor Manager
PRINCIPLE PURPOSE: To achieve sales by providing excellent Customer Service.
SALES & SERVICE
To put the customer first at all times and to identify customer needs promptly and accurately. To provide advice, present the products and promote all Closs & Hamblin services to customers
To offer related sales and services in order that the customer is fully aware of the range and to increase the sale value
To meet customer requirements by accurately calculating, measuring and cutting fabric. Checking goods prior to sale, accurately processing through the till and packaging correctly in order to deliver customer satisfaction and reduce unnecessary loss
To communicate clearly, ensuring customer requests are met by exactly recording details on Special Orders and associated paperwork. Subsequently dealing with any queries and follow up calls when required
To ensure all stock is clearly and correctly priced
TASK RELATED SKILLS
To ensure that all till operation, cash handling procedures and transactions are carried out accurately and all orders and paperwork are completed in accordance with Company Policy
To safely lift, pack and move products.
To assist in the preparation and implementation of stock checks and stock taking
To correctly action Stock Adjustments, Merchandise Transfers and Debits
To protect profitability at all times.
To merchandise and display stock.
To maintain standards of Housekeeping at all times
COMMUNICATION & TEAMWORK
To be prepared to learn about Closs & Hamblin products and services. Training will be given but seeking information, developing skills and knowledge must be self- driven.
To attend and actively take part in Staff Training Sessions.
To be aware and vigilant and immediately report any security or Health & Safety issues to management. Communicate any work-related issues to other staff and to suggest how the sales floor layout, presentation of goods and product range may be enhanced to maximise sales
To involve yourself in any area that may benefit the team and the customers
Such other duties as the management may at times, reasonably require
