The Strategic Buyer will form part of the procurement team to build an innovative supply chain.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for commodity strategy development
- Responsible for materials or services for either manufacturing, machined parts, subcontract manufacture or castings
- Proactive approach to delivering associated strategy development, supplier management, process control and day-to-day stakeholder management under collaborative programme delivery
- Business case development and product development, identifying non-production business and commercial enhancement and sub-contract
- Work closely with all operational teams, including production, quality, design and supply chain, to ensure continuity of supply
- Proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with vendor partners at all levels to ensure Procurement are a trusted adviser and an integral part of the business' decision-making process for third-party spend

Skills and Experience:

- Demonstrable experience of procurement in engineering manufacturing
- A thorough understanding of ERP/MRP, purchasing tools and techniques
- A demonstrable knowledge of techniques to deliver continuous cost savings and supply chain excellence
- A demonstrable knowledge of the construction, engineering and manufacturing markets, including industry trends, emerging products & commercial models
- A good understanding of supply chain risk and mitigation strategies, including legal risk, commercial risk, corporate responsibility risk, fraud risk and business continuity risk
- Sufficient understanding of contract law to be able to review agreements

Working with the UK's BEST Engineering Companies; the exciting role of HGV Commercial Vehicle Technician has become available on a permanent position. The role is working on nights, and will involve you being based in the depot workshop.

Desired Skills and Experience:

You will either have experience working on HGV vehicles and/or the qualifications to do so. Not essential but ideally you will have a Class 1 driving license as well as experience working on a variety of commercial vehicles.

The Flexible Inspection Technician will carry out Flexible Inspections on a sample of vehicles, to detect quality issues/opportunities, to root cause and repair issues and to drive their resolution to prevent re-occurrence. This role will also involve the preparation of vehicles for external regulation testing such as emissions.

You will be the voice of the customer through the target inspection of cars prior to exiting the facility. Identify root cause of issues, develop repair methods, feedback the issues found, allocate owners to resolve each issue and drive the resolution of each issue to prevent re-occurrence. Audits may include static checks, functional, paint, panel gaps, engine bay, dynamic test track and road test.
You will manage your own time and work closely with your peers to ensure all areas within quality have adequate cover.

Experience and Qualifications will include:
Part inspection methods.
Problem solving skills.
Computer literate
Driving license.
Statistical analysis of data.
Finished vehicle audit experience.
Vehicle repair experience.

The Role:
Powertrain Technician required to cover engine test programme.

* Dynometer test bed operation including installation and removal of test engines.
* Experience of calibration tools, Inca, Asam and AVL combustion analysis.
* Prototype build and strip of gasoline/diesel engines.
* Recognise and diagnose engine running faults.
* Conduct experiments and collect data.
* Build and set equipment for experiments.
* Fabrication and machining of bespoke components/brackets.
* Compliant with Microsoft office systems.
* Work shift patterns when required.
* Maintain communication with project engineers.
* Manage and prioritise workloads to achieve project demands.

Monday - Firday 8.25hrs per day. These will be weekly rotation shifts, 6:00 - 14:15 then 14:00 - 22:15. (Night shift 22:00 - 06:15 every 6/7 weeks.)
