Where in the world of OVO will I be working?
You will be working within the Retail Finance Team. Our objectives are:
- Financial Control; to ensure OVO’s resources are directed, monitored and measured in an accurate and timely manner and to maintain a ‘No Surprises Environment’
- Financial Planning; to allocate future resources beneficially to OVO and to introduce a clear method to achieve these plans
- Strategy; to help build and execute an action plan and to drive OVO to its long-term objectives.
This role will report into the Cashflow and Treasury Manager.
What will I be doing?
The role will support the Treasury team, who have responsibility for ensuring OVO effectively uses its cash resources and ensuring that OVO have clear visibility of and accurately forecast cash and funding requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the reconciliation of Retail’s bank accounts; on a daily and monthly basis
- Ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers, customers and employees
- Managing the Group’s banking and credit card relationships
- Dealing with banking-related queries (internal and external)
- Supporting cashflow forecasting (short and long term)
- Providing insight on cashflow variances
- Developing and implementing treasury procedures and controls
- Assisting the wider team with further bank-related month end and year end reporting
- Any other ad-hoc duties as requested
Is this the job for me?
The ideal candidate should have a background which reflects some or all of the following elements:
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or studying/qualified with treasury qualification
- Experience of a similar role, ideally in the energy industry
- You are someone who strives for accuracy, is detail-oriented and takes full ownership of the work you are responsible for
- Excellent communication skills in order to interact between Group Finance and other key stakeholders and teams throughout the business and externally
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to challenge
- Self-motivated and self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Strong working ethics and be enthusiastic to strive for the highest levels of accuracy
- You should be diligent with a preference for attention to detail and be willing to dig and investigate at depth to resolve problems. You should also be team oriented

The Role

Our client is a leading company specialising in the design, installation and commissioning of fire safety systems. The company have recently secured a large scale project at a well-known nuclear site in the South West, where they will be responsible for the overall design and commissioning of fire detection and suppression systems across all of the buildings at the nuclear facility. Reporting to the Project Director, the SHEQ Manager will have a thorough knowledge of health and safety, behavioural safety legislation and experience in the development and implementation of robust Quality and Management Systems. The successful candidate will need to manage all relevant aspects of the project ensuring tasks and objectives are completed on time.

Duties and Responsibilities

* With experience in auditing and root cause analysis techniques, you will have the ability to identify and assess patterns of resistance and recommend preventative action, develop new initiatives and co-ordinate/ensure their implementation.

* Communication and influencing skills are critical for this role; you will be required to coach, motivate and liaise with colleagues at all organisational levels and develop/deliver training and briefing material in an innovative, enjoyable but effective way.

* You need to have a good understanding of CDM regulations, specifically in relation to Client, Principal Designer and Principle Contractor role as well as thorough knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.

* Assess all aspects of the current quality management systems, conducting a review of current processes and creating an action plan for improvement

* Coordinate and lead a regular audit programme, analysing and report on results

* Engage across the organisation, ensuring that the requirements of the IMS are being applied on operational projects and associated activities

Requirements

* Qualification in occupational health and safety, e.g. NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma (or equivalent).

* Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with different arms of the business.

* Strong management skills or previous managerial/supervisory experience.

* Strong leadership skills to be able to take initiative and implement new ideas.

* Familiarity with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 certification standards.

Job Description: A well regarded and established medium sized Accountancy practice has a requirement for an Audit Senior to join their team in central Bristol.

They offer audit, accounting, tax, and consultancy services to a wide range of clients from charities and not for profit through to corporate organisations.

They are looking for an ACA/ACCA nearly or recently qualified Accountant who is keen to continue their career in Audit.

Responsibilities:

* Under the supervision of an Audit Manager or Partner, you will be responsible for the delivery of audit assignments, ensuring that your work and reporting is of high quality

* You will have the opportunity to lead your own audits, reviewing work carried out by the team.

* Assist in the supervision and development of more junior staff.

* Adhere to deadlines, including notification to partners when problems arise.

* Involvement in the provision of broader advisory services to clients.

Skills, experience & knowledge:

* ACA or ACCA qualified or nearly qualified.

* Audit experience in an Accountancy Firm with exposure to the entire audit cycle

* Knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.

* Knowledge of accounting packages and statutory accounts preparation software

* Experience of the charitable or not-for profit sector would be beneficial

Role: PHP Web Developer
Salary: £35k-£45k p.a.

This is a varied role for a stable company with a number of fantastic products. You will be responsible for writing efficient, optimised PHP Code to improve our client's core products. Working as part of a creative team, in addition to writing code, you will produce detailed specifications as well as testing, maintaining and troubleshooting existing products.

Good levels of knowledge of PHP 7 and MySQL is key. Basic Front End skills (Javascript, HTML5, and CSS3) will also look great on your CV and will help. We are looking for experience within any PHP framework (Codeignitor, Symfony, Laravel etc...) plus JavaScript and Object Orientated Programming (OOP) skills. Basic user experience of Linux (preferably Debian/Ubuntu) and Linux networking skills will also help.

You will have a varied and interesting range of work in your Web Developer portfolio; creating designs and building websites both on your own and as part of a team.

Job Description: Equipment Qualification Project Manager

The EQ Project Manager reports directly to the Equipment Qualification Lead and is responsible for the interfacing and coordinating of all activities associated with cross cutting Equipment Qualification issues. In particular, this role is associated with qualification to accidental conditions of mechanical components (valves and pumps), across multiple HPC Programmes.

This post has the responsibility to ensure that the scope of the cross cutting topic areas enables optimised equipment qualification activities. This includes consideration of technical, cost, schedule issues. This post will require planning and coordinating is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project.

Principal Accountabilities:

* Define the work scope to be delivered within the Equipment Qualification topic area and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme

* Securing the required resources from key stakeholders to meet their project requirements

* Prepare and present for any necessary governance approvals

* Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised and executed. The PEP sets out the “why”, “what”, “how”, “when” and “who” for the delivery of the programme

* Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their area of work

* Drive the delivery of the area activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, meeting technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters

* Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the area. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, and escalate any issues to the Equipment Qualification Lead

* Interface with other programmes to ensure a high-level view of how the total project is progressing and to identify and adopt the use of best practice

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

* In depth knowledge in the field of the Equipment Qualification to Accident Conditions in nuclear power plant project.

* Specific knowledge in relation to Mechanical components (Valves and Pumps in particular) subject to Equipment Qualification to Accident Conditions.

* Track record of delivering projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.

Demonstrate success in managing / developing:

* Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery,

* Procurement and management of complex contracts,

* Control of costs; risk; schedule and change and proficient in the use of Earned Value tools,

* Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations.

* Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.

* Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation. Proficient in the use of estimating scheduling, programming and risk tools.

* Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.

* Strong numerical and analytical skills.

* Knowledge and / or practitioner of Project Management with experience of applying either.

* Understanding the needs of quality and how quality is assured and controlled
