As an Area Manager, you’ll have responsibility for the day to day management of a Delivery Station, providing leadership to Shift Managers, Operations Supervisors, Operations Assistants and Delivery Service Providers, managing external agency relationships and performance. • Overseeing the operation that focuses on the delivery of Amazon orders direct to customers

• Continuously utilize software and hardware tools to ensure normal day to day operations. Ensure associates have proper tools to perform the job and coordinate repair or replacement when needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree qualification or equivalent

• Has knowledge and experience in direct-to-customer fulfilment operations as well as excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, designing process solutions • A forward thinker, with an ability to manage high levels of ambiguity and thrive on change.
• Qualifications in Engineering, Operations, or related fields is a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and build partnership relationships with both agency management representatives and their delivery providers

• Experience with performance metrics and process improvement with demonstrable problem solving skills and analytical skills
• Ability to work for different managers: we move managers around to meet business needs and as our business grows and you must adapt to changes in management

• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills

• Direct management experience for employees and their performance

• Willingness to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas

Working independently and co-ordinating efforts of other colleagues and contractors so that contracts and tasks are delivered.

Cost control of material spend and sub- contractor usage to ensure the Product stays within budget.

Feedback to Team Manager and customer, status of project or work so that both are fully aware of the progress to date.

Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies and procedures to ensure safety of colleagues, customers and the public.

Promote a 'right first time' approach

Balance own priorities and workload in order to ensure customer objectives are achieved and contractual obligations met.

Working in a structured tidy fashion observing all health and safety legislation and required operating standards.

Ensure effective communication with all departments to get jobs done on time and to correct specification.

Practical experience in building fabric maintenance and experience following safe systems of work.

Experience using hand tools with previous experience in carpentry, wet trades or similar.

Will be given a van (no age restrictions for insurance purposes), uniform and tablet.

Will be working on Delivery Offices, Mail Centres and Parceforce Depots.

Will need good communication skills, experience of using Email, Excel and Work, and jobs will be uploaded to a tablet.

Based out of Carlisle you will cover anywhere from Dumfries and Galloway to Lancaster.

Managing up to 40 vehicles across several UK sites from the Carlisle head office, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and co-ordination of the fleet, the maintenance of vehicles, and liaising with multiple sub-contractors on an ongoing basis. You will be required to review and improve compliance and safety in operations across the business with a zero-tolerance approach and will be leading incident and accident investigations in-line with RIDDOR reporting. In addition, you will be responsible for handling driver disciplinaries and overseeing staff training and development.

Reporting directly to the Directors you will be responsible for contributing towards continued organic growth, assessing new development opportunities and submitting KPI reports on a regular basis. You should have the ability to advise on industry-wide developments such as legislative changes and implement measures to meet any required changes within the sector.

About You
You will need to have a strong background in logistics and HGV fleet management, and you will ideally have a good understanding of the haulage sector. You will need to be compliance and policy focused, with a passion for providing the highest level of customer service.

It is key that you hold a Transport Manager CPC and HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence. You will preferably have knowledge of FORS accreditation and will need to have a working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation.

This position is initially temporary with a view to becoming permanent for the right applicants.
Working 3 days per week worked over a 5 day period. Our Client is flexible with regards to which days are worked.
Hourly rate dependant upon experience
