We are currently recruiting for an experienced Joinery Shop Operative to rework doors and fit vision panels to a high quality.

This is a full time and permanent position for 44 hours a week, Monday - Friday.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

* To communicate any problems to the Production Manager/Line Supervisor

* Manufacture doors/door sets to a high standard

* Flexible approach of overtime requirements to satisfy customer requirements

* Operate relevant equipment in a safe manner

* Manufacture product to specification within allotted time scales

* Contribute to product development

* Ensure good housekeeping and manufacturing practices

* Carry out all reasonable production related requests as instructed by the Line Supervisor

* Contribute to process improvements

* Where appropriate, you will be expected to support colleagues as requested to cover holidays and sickness

* Ensure Health and Safety at Work regulations are complied with at all times

* Work in line with the company’s quality system

* Always present a professional image of oneself, the department, and the company

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* 5 GCSE Grade C or above including Maths and English

* Understanding of basic machinery

* Capable of working from worksheets (full training will be given)

* FLT Counterbalance licence would be beneficial

You will work within the workshops building specialist vehicles/components/products that are bespoke in type and very customer specific. Producing specialist fabrications and components in a variety of materials including ferrous and non ferrous metals using engineering drawings and own initiative. Cutting, welding and fabricating sections to high standards using Mig and Tig welding in steel and aluminium. Use of hand, power and machine tools (guillotines, saws, etc), use of overhead gantry cranes, working at heights.

Hours : Monday to Friday (7.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. - finishing at 1.30 p.m. on Fridays) - total hours 40 per week. Pay between 10.43 and 11.55 per hour depending on qualifications and experience Overtime available at time and a half. Profit sharing bonus scheme and company pension scheme

About the Department

What is the Role?

In this role you'll be involved in electrical installation works across commercial and industrial premises, including MOD, Healthcare and Manufacturing industries.

The position will be based from our Tiptree depot covering the Essex area.

What Do I Need?

To be successful in applying for this role, you must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Electrical systems operating principals and ensure compliance with the current edition of BS7671, Construction Industry Safety Regulations as well as SSEC policies and procedures.

You will have completed your Electrical Apprenticeship and will have achieved an NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation and/or servicing/maintenance work or will have obtained a pass in the City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent).In addition we require Achievement Measurement 2 or equivalent and you will have a thorough working knowledge of Industry Codes of Practice. You should have obtained or can work towards City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent.

You should have a good working knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Sound knowledge of Industrial, Commercial & Domestic installation requirements and the ability to effectively record faults/deviations of such.

You will have the ability to carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reporting to BS7671. You will be expected to manage your time effectively and liaise directly with our clients to arrange electrical isolations.

PASMA / IPAF training will be advantageous

A full UK driving licence is vital for this role as well as a passion for safety and the ability to work well in a team as well as independently.

Part Time Sales Assistant - 20 hours

We're recruiting Sales Assistants / Drivers, to join the UK's largest decorating merchant network, at their store in Colchester. As the home of a huge range of world class brands, this is the place that millions of people turn to for all their decorating needs.

As a Sales Assistant / Driver, you'll provide an efficient and friendly service to professional decorators, contractors and DIY enthusiasts. You will be primarily working in the store but occasionally you will be required to cover on the driving side; using your knowledge of the local area to carry out deliveries to local homes and businesses.

You'll build good relationships with store colleagues and customers, with the aim of gaining repeat business. You'll also have a willingness to roll up your sleeves and merchandise the store, to keep the environment looking great for customers.

We're looking for someone that holds a full UK driving licence and has some previous customer service experience. You'll be the sort of person who thrives on meeting different people and getting involved in all sorts of areas of the business. You'll be good at building relationships and you'll pick up product knowledge quickly. You'll also have a flexible attitude and will be eager to take on responsibility. If you have experience working in a retail role, so much the better.

This is a permanent role, where you'll be working 20 hours per week.
