An exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Architectural Technician in Northampton to join a fast-paced office, working within the education, logistics, commercial and leisure sectors.

My client is a well-established and growing practice with over five decades of experience in both private and public sectors. Their projects, ranging in size from £50,000 - £50million and include commercial, hotels, education and logistics buildings. The team, totalling 24 staff and led by three partners, include a mix of architects, technicians, designers and assistants. Their medium size allows for a personalised service, ensuring projects are delivered to completion.

The practice, having a large portfolio of secured work see them now requiring an efficient and capable Architectural Technician to join the team.

Role & Responsibilities

The production of working drawings and technical details to comply with all current regulations and legislation
Able to work across projects of differing sizes, sectors and complexity
You will have a high degree of autonomy but also work within teams when required
Able to deal directly with clients, other consultants and contractors.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 3 years UK experience on relevant projects
Excellent knowledge of Building Regulations, materials and construction techniques
Experience in managing and producing working drawings
Revit experience is highly advantageous
AutoCAD and SketchUp proficiency is essential.

Maxwell Bruce are looking for an experienced groundworks squad to start in the Edinburgh City Centre on the Monday, 10th February 2020.

All candidates must have a valid CSCS card and plant tickets covering CPCS Dumper/Roller and CPCS Excavator within the squad.

Also any plant operatives will require to have a full UK driving license.

Duties will include various aspects of groundworks:

- Kerbing

- Paving

- Drainage

Work will be on for approximately 6 months however a good squad would be kept on.

Hours are approx 60 per week with overtime rates available after 46 hours and weekends.

Rates are as follows:

* Groundworker £12.00/hr PAYE or £14.88/hr LTD for basic

* Excavator Op £13.50/hr PAYE or 16.54/hr LTD for basic

* Dumper / Roller £13.50/hr PAYE or 16.54/hr LTD for basic

We are currently seeking a Project Manager with Water experience to be based for a Consultancy in Sheffield.

The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager Role:

The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery commissioning phase. Experience in the Water industry would be very advantageous.
Lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery
Provide oversight / strategic guidance /audit & review, to a portfolio of projects being led within the cost centre
To provide effective support to Junior level Project Managers
Ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time
Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
Be the primary interface with clients
Provide leadership within project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team
Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training
Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards
Co-ordination and sign off on all management information produced by project management teams prior to issue
Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations
Project Manager/Senior Project Manager:

Water or Utilities experience
Experienced in a Client management role – Able to manage the accounts in terms of projects that are `live’, plus seeking new opportunities.
Chartered Status with the RICA, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Possess the ability to work across services lines
Commercial experience is essential along with a proven track record of winning and retaining new Client

About the role

As one of our Framework Managers you will be the front face of Aggregate Industries in the eyes of Highways England focusing on improving safety, delivering customer service and road investment strategy. Working with regional teams and internal specialists you will ensure customer satisfaction and smooth running of projects. You will also work closely with Delivery Integration Partners throughout the early contractor involvement to explore commercial and operational improvements bringing in innovation from our wider business.

Other elements to the role include:

Ensuring the regional contracts are mobilised in a timely and effective manner with detailed embedded plans, including close attention to health and safety.

*

Ensuring commercial systems and processes have been approved in accordance with the Framework requirements.

*

Actively engage with business improvement and change management programmes and champion best practice.

*

Carry out customer satisfaction measurement ensuring any improvements or actions are communicated to them

What will you bring?

*

Previous experience in a Framework Manager, Contract Manager or Area Manager position is highly desirable, working on Highways projects.

*

Degree or equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a similar Construction related qualification

*

Excellent Communication Skills and a real ability to communicate up and down within Aggregate Industries and Highways England

*

Experience in managing change and an ability to demonstrate a high level of behavioural adaptability

*

Excellent time management skills, with ability to deliver tasks to deadlines

*

IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office packages

*

Ability to lead by and set an example

*

Experience in building collaborative relationships with existing and new clients and supplier
