Here at Health-on-Line we’re looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. Our IT team consists of nearly 60 talented individuals who support, manage, develop and test our bespoke IT systems which are all built in-house – something we are very proud of! You will join us on a full time, permanent basis in return for a competitive salary of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The team typically work a 35 week and we have a flexible working pattern around the core hours of 9am to 5pm with ability to work from home on occasion. The department also enjoys regular social and charity events.
As our Test Automation Engineer you will be responsible for testing key software applications to meet business requirements, as well as building and maintaining test automation suites for software and systems to detect faults and keep a record of any defects and bugs that are discovered. As part of the development team you’ll discuss any problems that occur and track the success of solutions put in place. We rely heavily on verbal communication and working side by side with the developers so strong communication skills are key.
Skills, knowledge and behaviour required of our Test Automation Engineer:
- A strong background in test automation at a UI and API level
- End to end software development life cycle experience
- Sound working knowledge of software development approaches such as TDD and BDD
- You must have experience in building and maintaining automated test suites in enterprise applications
- With a heavy focus on collaborative work, you will need to work extremely well in a team
- Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with colleagues
- Passionate about improving quality within applications as well as individual improvement
Desirable skills;
- Performance Testing
- Security Testing
- GIT & understanding of branch management
- Experience using Azure DevOps & Azure Portal
- ISTQB, CSQA or CSTE qualified, or qualified to degree level in a technical related subject

- SpecFlow, Selenium, Protractor, JMeter
- SQL Server 2016
- TDD, Continuous delivery, Automated testing, Unit testing frameworks, IOC
- Microservices, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Commercial Azure experience, Azure DevOps/TFS, Git
Experience working in agile teams using a SCRUM methodology would be advantageous.
