Job Description: Embedded Software Engineer

JOB SPECIFICATION

From the high-level, you would be developing software to an Automotive SPICE process. This means that you will be creating drivers and software components for our products and our customer's products. Where for each software component you develop, you would also create a Module Design Specification detailing what the driver does and its interfaces.

Along with the specification you will need to create a Test Specification that shows how your code delivers what it needs to. Then a Test Report proving how it all works.

Whilst you are working on the software you will be checking the code into our SVN code repository, commenting on your progress on the job ticket via Trac and raise any issues with the rest of the team, you will help to integrate the software into the project.

The types of projects they work on vary from Electric Vehicles to Microwave Ovens. Some have complex control requirements others have full touch screens and audio drivers. All of them need to be developed right, with good robust code and proven to work.

Additional work will include working with microprocessors such as PPC and Cortex M0/M3 (developing low-level drivers)

The client is hoping to welcome an experienced (3+ years) and enthusiastic Embedded Software engineer. If you are a gifted programmer with the ability to get deep down to the circuit board level, they would love to talk to you.

The client is an automotive embedded software and electronics company. We are focused on doing everything right. They look for the best way to solve problems. They are big believers in model based engineering, working smarter not harder.

Job Description: NATIONAL DISTRIBUTION SALES MANAGER – TECHNOLOGY PRODUCT RANGE

Up to £45K + bonus + car + profit share + excellent benefits

Your career’s been building up to this! Come and manage, develop and optimise a mass distributor network - for a technology company that gives you the scope and freedom to really make some noise.

Klaxon is certainly a company that attracts attention. In fact if you hear a fire alarm or siren, there’s a good chance it’s a Klaxon product. The company's reach is growing all the time, thanks to its global mass distributor network.

Cutting straight to the chase, we’re looking for the person who can take this network to the next level, by managing and building existing partnerships, while developing a highly efficient distribution strategy going forward.

You’ll be distribution sales number one, reporting to the Global Head of Sales for Klaxon & OEM. And you’ll have plenty of freedom to run the operation (with a focus on major / national accounts which offer considerable growth potential).

Responsibility for a sizeable multi £m revenue, with projected growth of 5% per year. Most business is UK focused right now, but you’ll be continuing the drive into Europe, primarily within Germany, France and Spain.

While this is very much a hands-on, on-the-road, distribution sales position, you’ll have a major voice in shaping the network for maximum impact, selecting dealers and defining the commercial strategy.

You

You’ll already be working in a distribution sales management role, possibly regionally or as national number two. A firm grasp of mass distribution concepts is vital and of course you’ll have excellent account management and development skills.

Additionally, we're looking for someone who has a clear eye for the bottom line and can ‘read between the numbers’ to see exactly where the commercial opportunities lie.

Fire market knowledge/expertise would be ideal, but we’ll fully consider you if you operated in other sectors with similar mass distribution operations.

Beyond this it’s energy, ambition and commercial creativity that matter (along with a decent grasp of how to deal in technical products).

Attractions

This a great opportunity to make your mark, not only with Klaxon, but also its parent group, Halma PLC. The career horizons are wide and you’ll enjoy good support, within a business that’s refreshingly free of red tape.

The benefits include car, laptop, phone, quarterly bonus and 15% profit share once the team target has been reached.
