Do you love delving into technical detail when a request for tender comes through?

How do you fancy being involved in selecting the most interesting and profitable jobs around?

It’d worry me, to be honest. I’d struggle working out whether it was cheaper to drive to work or to get the train. Never mind going through the intricacies of costing a bespoke piece of work, figuring out whether it’s possible to manufacture and whether it’d actually work.

If you’re the sort of person who thrives on that kind of responsibility I think this role could be for you.

Right now you’ll probably be working on costing, bid management, feasibility studies and putting together proposals for bespoke technical products. As long as you’re ok dealing with a full project and not comfortable with the cup holders on a train, you’ll probably be ok.

Don’t worry though. You won’t need a little black book or a list of contacts to get in touch with. When you start you’ll find that you’re probably turning down more work that you’re bidding on. That’s because the order book is pretty full now and, as much as the growth plans in this place are pretty ambitious, I know they’re keen to make sure they don’t bite off more than they can chew.

You’ll get plenty of technical support in that period that and you’ll get up to speed by spending time in different areas of the business to understand what a good job looks like for them. If you’ve been around tenders for bespoke vehicles in the past you’ll probably hit the ground running a bit quicker.

The salary is open to discussion but i see this paying in the region of 50k.

Call me if you’d like to discuss this one. I’m on (phone number removed) and you can find me on LinkedIn as well. Don’t worry if you don’t have a CV ready to go at this point – we can cross that bridge when we come to it. If you do have one though it’d be good to have a scan

Job Description:
CV-Library jobs

RedBeagle Recruitment are on the look out for a top notch Installation Engineer who can set up and service cutting-edge Audio Visual equipment. Is this you?

HERE’S THE LOWDOWN:

If you’re an ambitious team player with a solid understanding of first and second fix AV installations, then our client can offer you a challenging role in a company that’s going places

The clients are based in London and have been around since 2015, but they’ve quickly put together a strong team, made up of sales, delivery and operational staff

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR?

You’ve got to love tech with a passion

But they’re also looking for a perfectionist who knows the importance of the technology you’re providing the clients with

You take pride in your work, no matter how small the job is: whether you’re delivering a perfect and impactful cable finish, or testing something for the umpteenth time, you strive to be the best

You get a kick out of meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure, plus you’re equally as comfortable being part of a team as you are working on your own

Everything the client work on needs to be configured and tested thoroughly, so they’re after someone who’s unflappable. When stuff happens (and it will), you’ll need to find a solution, while keeping a clear head

THE NITTY-GRITTY?

Every job is different, so you’ll never get bored

You’ll mainly be covering the London area but sometimes your help will be needed in other parts of the UK. And occasionally you’ll be asked you to work in Europe

You’ll be reporting to the Installations Manager under instruction from the Lead Engineer and the assigned Project Manager. You’ll be required to provide reports of daily activities you’ve completed and any issues you’ve had

You’ll receive all the training you need, but it’s important that you are equally a proactive self-starter who can learn fast

THE NON-NEGOTIABLES?

An excellent working knowledge of how to wire, install and configure a variety of AV & Video Conferencing systems. This includes creative fault-finding and providing preventative measures.

You’ll have excellent soldering, crimp and terminating skills. Audio DSPs don’t send you into a spin and the key principles behind VOIP/SIP integration are locked in

You also know that RS232 isn’t something out of Star Wars. They’re command strings that you’re confident creating and testing

You will need to be a CSCS/ECS (or equivalent) card holder

Hold a valid UK driving license and the right to work in the UK

THE NICE-TO-HAVES?

• IPAF
• PASMA
• CTS-I
• Crestron CTI-P101
• Relevant manufacturer training
• Experience of Crestron control systems

PERKS OF THE JOB

* Shiny Company Van

* An awesome team, that knows our goals & communicates well

* Uniform

* Pension

* 26 days holidays plus bank holidays

* Hot & Cold drinks & fresh fruit

* Fun regular socials

* Mobile phone & laptop

We look forward to receiving your application, if you do not hear back within 48 hours, please consider your application unsuccessful but we thank you for taking the time to apply and wish you every luck with your search
