Desired Skills and Experience:

Cobham Aviation Services UK are recruiting for a Simulation Technology Engineer (known internally as a Synthetics/LVC Technologies Engineer) to be responsible to the Chief Engineer Technology for the identification, evaluation and development of key technologies.

You will be accountable for ensuring the key technologies meet requirements and conform to the required design governance process, safety, and airworthiness/ quality requirements.

The role supports a program including an upgrade in operational readiness training to UK MOD. You will be instrumental in developing and identifying solutions in supporting a synthetic environment such as joint live aircraft & ground simulator mission technology.

The position is based at our Bournemouth International Airport site and requires minimal travel. The position reports into a Chief Engineer and has no direct reports.

As a Simulation & Modelling Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

MATLAB/ SIMULINK experience would be desirable.

Knowledge of aircraft avionic systems.

Operations Director required for a well established and highly successful global manufacturing company. This is a new role due to growth, you will form part of the Director Team and enjoy an autonomous position where you can add value and influence change throughout the company.

Do you love delving into technical detail when a request for tender comes through?

How do you fancy being involved in selecting the most interesting and profitable jobs around?

It’d worry me, to be honest. I’d struggle working out whether it was cheaper to drive to work or to get the train. Never mind going through the intricacies of costing a bespoke piece of work, figuring out whether it’s possible to manufacture and whether it’d actually work.

If you’re the sort of person who thrives on that kind of responsibility I think this role could be for you.

Right now you’ll probably be working on costing, bid management, feasibility studies and putting together proposals for bespoke technical products. As long as you’re ok dealing with a full project and not comfortable with the cup holders on a train, you’ll probably be ok.

Don’t worry though. You won’t need a little black book or a list of contacts to get in touch with. When you start you’ll find that you’re probably turning down more work that you’re bidding on. That’s because the order book is pretty full now and, as much as the growth plans in this place are pretty ambitious, I know they’re keen to make sure they don’t bite off more than they can chew.

You’ll get plenty of technical support in that period that and you’ll get up to speed by spending time in different areas of the business to understand what a good job looks like for them. If you’ve been around tenders for bespoke vehicles in the past you’ll probably hit the ground running a bit quicker.

The salary is open to discussion but i see this paying in the region of 50k.

You also know that RS232 isn’t something out of Star Wars. They’re command strings that you’re confident creating and testing

You will need to be a CSCS/ECS (or equivalent) card holder

Hold a valid UK driving license and the right to work in the UK

Internal Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Support Specialist with recent experience of telesales, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), engineering qualifications / background and full UK driving licence is required for a full time, permanent position in the Knutsford, WA16 area. Salary is up to £22,500 (dependent on experience and qualifications). The basic working week is 37.5 hours (8:00am - 4:30pm Mon - Fri).

Job Purpose: Reporting into the Sales Team Leader, provide technical and administrative support to all members of the sales team acting as the internal liaison communicating between the external sales engineers and all other internal teams

The successful Internal Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Support duties will include:

Offering technical sales support to customers either via email, telephone or face to face, providing excellent customer service and develop excellent working relationships.
Research the internet, relevant publications and industry knowledge etc. to target new, lapsed and current customers.
Understand the basic functionality and capability of company products and knowledge of packaging materials and compatibilities.
Utilise Salesforce CRM database to create new accounts and new sales opportunities, updating records and ensuring that activity is reported in a required timescales.
Prepare technical quotations and sales proposals using templates in Salesforce CRM.
Working closely with design and projects team regarding technical issues and feasibility of customer requirements in particular modifications to onsite machinery or tooling. Request parts lists, costs and labour required so that prices can be calculated by the sales team prior to quotes being prepared.
Liaise closely with production to specify delivery dates and availability of machinery and lead times for tooling and modifications to existing machinery and tools.
Work with the sales engineers to organise, support and carry out production trials as appropriate.
Obtain customers' packaging samples on behalf of the Sales Engineers for new orders when required and issue specimens to relevant departments after processing sales orders as required.
Complete tooling specification sheets on behalf of the sales engineers.
Process customer purchase orders on Syspro ERP system.
File specification and other information relating to the orders that has been provided by the sales engineers in the correct folders on the file server.
Participate in monthly sales meetings taking an active role offering constructive ideas and feedback to the team.
Deal professionally, competently and courteously with customers, suppliers and colleagues in verbal and written communications in a timely manner.
Assist customers and colleagues with problems that arise offering practical and appropriate solutions.
Ensure that customer / company confidentiality is not breached during any form of communication.
Ensure the Sales Team Leader is regularly updated and informed of any relevant issues.

The ideal Internal Sales Engineer will have the following experience / characteristics:

Recent internal / technical sales experience
Relevant mechanical / electrical engineering qualifications.
Able to read engineering drawings / understand engineering terminology.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
Qualified to GCSE standard including Maths, Science and English at grade B or higher.
Organised, methodical and attentive to detail.
Sociable / outgoing, self-motivated, able to overcome objections, resilient and ability to influence.
Be able to work with the minimum of supervision.
Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM and ERP software.
Full UK driving licence.
