Integration Engineer - Contract

A rapidly expanding global technology consultancy is now seeking an to join their global IT team in Gateshead. Due to multiple company acquisitions the company requires someone who can help them prepare and audit for infrastructure and data migrations. The integration engineer is responsible for undertaking the work required to transform newly acquired businesses to my client's systems and standards.

ROLE: Integration Engineer

DAY RATE: £250-£350 per day

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

Essential

Strong Technical IT background covering all aspects of virtualisation (Software, Hardware, Networking)
2+ years working with Microsoft technologies, particularly around domain and email migration.
MCSA or equivalent Microsoft exam qualifications in MS Server, Exchange, Active Directory
Excellent auditing skills of IT assets
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Ability to investigate unfamiliar problems and generate an effective solution in a systematic and logical manner
As well as being able to work effectively as a member of a team, they must also be able to organise and manage their own workloadDesirable

I currently have an exciting opportunity in Gateshead to join an established Software Development Team for a global organisation.

The team you will be joining, provides mature agile development services for multiple customers and internal stakeholders, across a range of key software products across the business.

As a DevOps Engineer your role underpins much of the development function. You will be working with modern technologies, consisting of mainly angular front-ends using a combination of TypeScript and JavaScript, with backend C# Web API RESTful services.

Main responsibilities of the role include designing and developing simple, maintainable build and delivery pipelines to ensure builds are consistently delivered into their environments with high reliability and focus on the Development Team needs.

Your role will involve:
- Managing our sourcing repositories, building and delivering pipelines over multiple complex systems
- Providing and maintaining the development and test environments
- Working with Ansible and PowerShell scripts
- Deploying into vSphere and Azure Cloud based environments
- Envisioning and delivering software infrastructure that meets user needs and/or solves business problems
- Designing infrastructure solutions to meet complex and challenging user requirements
- Liaising with both technical and non-technical audiences

To be suitable for this role you will have:
- Strong understanding and commercial experience of developing and maintaining Azure DevOps build and deployment pipelines
- Excellent commercial experience of developing and maintaining Octopus deployments
- Excellent knowledge in ARM or similar templating technologies
- Excellent knowledge in Ansible or similar infrastructure as code technologies
- Skills in platform debugging
- Experience of working in an agile team
- Experience of a continuous deployment environment
- Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, Load balancing and Firewalls
- Good technical skills and knowledge of solution design and application architecture

In this role you'll be tasked with commissioning the installation of BMS and Control systems in line with customer design requirements for projects. This will see you performing physical wiring checks and plant start-ups, provide technical support to other trades and sub-contractors, and carrying out trouble shooting to diagnose system defects.

Finally, you'll also be working for one of the largest BMS businesses in the market, with strong manufacturer relationships and support, alongside a team with a winning mentality and determination to achieve our shared goals.

What Do I Need?

To be successful in this role, you'll have experience in all aspects of Building Services including infrastructure, software, integration and controls philosophies. You'll also be able to hold technical discussions around building control technologies with our clients and offer solutions.

You'll have an HNC in Building Services or an HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. We will also consider candidates with commissioning BMS and control system experience and ideally a level of understanding of Siemens, Trend with IQ Vision, Cylon or Tridium.
