Position Description;

Reporting to the Global Commodity Leader you will have Global responsibility for specific commodities on behalf of the client.

* You will utilise your experience to analyse, define, and implement market and sourcing strategies for your designated commodities.

* You will lead the Global sourcing activity through the Global Sourcing Process (GSP) up to contract award (SCPA).

* Both Global Strategy and Sourcing activity will be supported by the Regional Delivery teams for your commodities, utilising regional market intelligence and expertise.

* You will lead the development of the supplier and internal stakeholder relationships to ensure strategic and programme alignment.

* You will manage suppliers within your designated commodities, responsible for Supplier Business Reviews ensuring that the Global Commodity Strategy and Supply Base Market strategy is effectively deployed throughout all of client and the external supply chain.

* You will support and work closely with the Regional Delivery teams and engage with specialists within the Purchasing Function as required to ensure optimum value creation and delivery, as well as leading stakeholder relationships and ensuring the client is appropriately represented both internally and externally

Due to continuous growth they are seeking a Technical Trainer for Apprentice Mentoring to join the Body Engineering team. This will be based in Gaydon on a contracting basis

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is delivering some ground-breaking work in developing the next generation of pioneering engineers and shaping the future of our industry. They are responsible for developing and implementing an apprentice learning programme that is capable of developing world class engineers through hands-on Engineering experience and academic training, targeted towards Virtual Toolsets to meet the future needs of Body Engineering.

The Technical Trainer role is to ensure appropriate, relevant and timely training and development interventions to improve the Technical Engineering, CAD and CAE competency of Apprentices within Body Engineering.

Continually develop our future pioneering World Class engineers through the Body Engineering enhanced Degree Apprenticeship programme and drive engineering efficiency into everything we do.

Lead the development of strong scientific/technical foundations and practical application within the product engineering teams. Lead the use of academic knowledge into work-based projects and enable us to achieve our strategic vision. Take an integrated approach, real vehicle programme work used as a medium for teaching and learning. Working with academia and the HR Apprentice team to ensure the education curriculum at colleges and universities meet the needs of Body Engineering. Support the embedding of a learning environment within Body Engineering commodity teams to fulfil our vision of developing world class engineers.

Skills Required:

Maths, Engineering or Science Degree ideally with experience of engineering application
Training and development experience ideally (CAD/CAE/Physics/Maths - creating material, delivering material)
Project management and people skills (including implementing change).
Ability and evidence of planning of short- and long-term objectives for people. Ability and evidence of working with teams of 10 and above
Excellent people and negotiation skills
Experience of 'pastoral leadership
Ability to create documentation to support activities such as visions, plans, deployment

Experience Required:

Experience of working in a teaching/training environment with a knowledge of training; Apprentices/Undergraduates/Graduates/Students.
Proven leadership and workload management experience
Proven ability to plan effectively, co-ordinate and control own workflow and achieve quality results
Natural problem-solver with proven experience and structured approach to problem solving.

Education Required:

Due to continuous growth they are seeking a Stamping Engineer to join the Tooling Engineering team. This will be based in either Gaydon or Press shop plants on a contracting basis

Job Description:

As a Stamping Engineer you'll be responsible for specification and procurement of tools, operating from the start of Vehicle design through to final commissioning and sign-off in their nominated press facility. Working closely with Tooling Engineers and our Purchasing function to establish viable timeline and plan for assigned portfolio of Press Tools.

You'll manage progress and deliver of tooling into the press facilities, ensuring compliance with performance, quality, timing and cost targets. Operating at the subject matter expert on your assigned tooling portfolio, providing regular updates against key metrics to the management team. You'll drive the best possible outcomes by ensuring that the design phase maximises panel quality and overall hits per hour.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Timing Plans / AIMs & Costs control across all programs Pre E-0, JOB1 + 90, clear direction and support at both the Up Front and Delivery stages of all programs, GD&T, Delivery / Understanding, prior to FDJ CAD Release, liaising across all functions for agreement.
Operate as subject matter expert and `owner of an assigned portfolio of tooling, providing regular, structured updates on performance, quality, timing and cost.
Drive for best possible tooling outcomes by ensuring that the design phase maximises panel quality and overall `hits per hour performance.
Establish a professional, engineering interface with product design and tooling vendors to ensure robust management of engineering change with minimal impact to the project outcomes.
Ensure learning from one program to another is captured and contained within engineering standards and operating procedures.
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time

Press tooling knowledge-based
Knowledge and familiarity with key processes, facilities and technologies used throughout the pressed parts process chain.
Clear understanding of part forming techniques, to support the Concept Feas team.

Experience Required:

A thorough understanding of press tool from design, through to methods and technologies.
Time served Apprenticeship based expertise in Press Tooling A relevant engineering degree is not essential, however would be an advantage
Understanding of Panel Cosmetic concerns
Basic knowledge of CAD Software tools, Catia, Autoform

The role will be to build, prepare, service and maintain our client's prototype vehicles / bucks to facilitate both whole vehicle and component testing in line with design verification programme objectives of all future products.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Preparation of our client's products to required standards.
Service and maintenance of our client's worldwide prototype fleet.
Interaction with engineering teams for fault diagnosis and issue resolution.

Support Prototype test vehicles whilst on test, both in the UK and overseas.

Qualifications and Experience

Ability to read, interpret and work to engineering drawings / process sheets.
Work experience preparing and supporting Prototype test vehicles.
Thorough knowledge of computer systems and software including MS Word & Excel.
Extensive knowledge of our client's products both past and present.
Team player but also able to work independently.
Strong verbal communication skills

Ability to travel to support overseas events
Clean Driving License and valid passport

Job Description: Chassis R&D are responsible for the design, engineering and releasing of the following systems and components: Wheels & tyres, foundation brakes, ESC and brake actuation, suspension, steering, subframes, springs & dampers, roll control, active chassis controls and powertrain mounting systems across all car lines. Contract cover for front & rear suspension design, engineering and releasing.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

* Design & release of suspension components, to include bushes, control arms, ball joints, knuckles and hub bearing assemblies.

* Produce Design Manuals, Engineering Specifications and best practice documentation to aid ‘Right First Time’ system delivery.

* Guide Chassis CAD engineers to deliver concept system layout and component package maturation.

* Work with Chassis Simulation team to develop primary concepts for suspension systems for early prototype build phases and production.

* Lead Suppliers to design and develop components & systems that meet specified requirements and performance targets.

* Analyse and recommend suitability of carry-over or modular systems to optimise platform commonality

* Keep abreast of technical developments within the industry, and conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends.

* Manage Suppliers to ensure parts are delivered on time and to the required quality standard.

* Work closely with Manufacturing and Launch to enable swift and accurate fitment of components to vehicles.

* Work with Vehicle Attribute teams to deliver components which meet attribute targets and achieve freeze dates.

* Control Design Verification and Sign Off reporting.

* Lead DFMEAs, quality history reviews, robustness studies, etc.

* Support vehicle tests with components where required.

Qualification & Experience:

* Relevant experience within an automotive OEM or automotive components supplier.

* Challenges and improves ways of doing things, adapts to change, able to reflect on past experiences and is open to constructive feedback.

* Component engineering experience

* Good working knowledge of Chassis and suspension systems, including sub-components and their function.

* Good working knowledge of VIS Mockup and Teamcenter

* Competent in all Microsoft Office applications.

* Able to work as part of a small team and actively participate in creation and development of innovative design solutions within the R&D environment.

* Knowledge of MISSION or an equivalent Product Creation System such as GPDS, FPDS, AMPCS.

* Component or system level rig testing experience preferred

* Strong interest in Vehicle Dynamics desirable but not essential

* Strong time management, accuracy, diligence, ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks to meet customer needs.

Job Description: On behalf of a prestigious Warwickshire based automotive OEM, we're currently looking to recruit for a Transmissions Project Engineer who must have prior experience of delivering automotive transmissions, preferably automatic.

Job Purpose

The candidate will be required to define a component concept from test data, translate it into a design, then take the project through development into production.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Deliver Automatic / Automated Transmission System(s) on time into production achieving

Quality: Use our client's engineering quality systems (FMEAs, QHR, Robustness Studies etc) to identify & contain potential quality concerns
Cost: Support the transmission manager in definition of programme cost targets & work with suppliers to deliver system that achieves these targets. Manage project budget and ensure CMS accuracy is maintained.
Weight: Support Driveline Manager in definition of programme weight targets & manage CAD engineers to design system that achieves targets
Function: Generate robust System Design Specification to define system functional targets & deliver components to meet targets. Support Test & Development team with DVP planning & execution & ensure supplier tests are completed on time.
Timing: Ensure external suppliers can support all timing requirements. Work with application engineer to ensure all internal timing requirements are met.
Package: Manage CAD engineers to achieve static & dynamic clearance targets, negotiate component change in other areas of our client's Product Development if required to achieve clearances.
Deliver the commodity programme to meet Mission Gate objectives.
Define & manage a commodity plan for each programme including design & manufacturing lead-times as well as key programme deliverables timing.
Complete Request Forms, Engineering Release Notices & Releases to allow engineering changes to be approved by our client's organisations.
Resolve engineering eCMS Concerns in a timely fashion. Establish and deliver containments as appropriate.
Present programme status to Gateways, support Powertrain design reviews, Package Meetings & Powertrain PMT meetings.
Lead FMEAs and input to manufacturing PFMEAs.
Track the spend on tooling, engineering & parts for the system & predict the spend to the end of the project to ensure that it can be completed within the available budget.

Qualifications and Experience

Educated to Degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience of delivering a commodity to production, as well as demonstrating a robust engineering approach.
Previous powertrain experience is preferred.
Experience of electrification would be of benefit

Job Purpose:

The Electrical R&D department is responsible for all future electrical systems research, and the development, delivery and validation of electrical components for all of our client's core vehicles.

To own and be responsible for feature definition & ownership, Component ownership and delivery responsible for electrical components. These include infotainment head unit, tuner, microphone, amplifier etc.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

Develop and maintain a 5 year strategy & foster relevant new technologies to implementation ready within agreed budget, timing.
Support with defining targets for future models.
Deliver the Programme quality, cost, weight, function and timing requirements for the systems and features you are responsible for.
Ensure that the systems meet the Function plan (with the component suppliers), creating & managing recovery plans as required.

Qualification & Experience:

Electrical Engineering Degree
CAN tools - CANoE
Understanding of LIN/CAN/Automotive Ethernet
Understanding of electronics/software and hardware design
Data analysis & report writing
Proven record of delivering Electrical or Electronics commodities, including quality, cost, function, weight and timing. Experience of vehicle level system integration in terms of hardware and Software). Experience of software development processes and managing software delivery.
Experience of delivering infotainment systems, Navigation, Bluetooth and Media devices, Tuner and Infotainment HMI. Delivery experience on Infotainment OS system (windows, Linux, QNX, etc.).
