Multi-Skilled Day Technician (HVAC and Mechanical Systems)

As a day Multi Skilled Technician with HVAC and Mechanical Systems bias, you will deliver, in compliance with F-gas regulations, maintenance and repair of the site air-conditioning/refrigeration/electrical/mechanical/building services plant & equipment across the Northwood HQ maintenance PFI contract.

As part of our day shift team, you will:

Perform planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs on but not limited to air conditioning, refrigeration systems, mechanical, electrical, building services

Service, test, diagnose and repair process control systems and automatic control devices related to the building services plant and equipment

Liaise / assist with other services as necessary for the efficient delivery of work activities, workmanship and productivity to comply with the performance standards

Where required undertake and implement minor capital works projects

Use provided test and monitoring equipment for the purpose of maintaining engineering system operational performance and to aid fault diagnostics and repair, interrogate and adjust systems to maintain correct operation of plant and equipment

Carry out air-conditioning, electrical, mechanical and system checks associated with maintaining a compliant environment in the relevant areas in accordance with current legislation

Carry out Skilled Person duties as required for the engineering services on site in compliance with JSP375 Volume 3 as applicable, including preparation of installations for others

Implement & comply with the procedures as detailed in the company's Health & Safety Policies, Statutory obligations and in accordance with the Skanska IFE (Injury Free Environment

Participate in the site on-call out of hours rota as and when requested by Line Manager

Undertake any other tasks that may arise from time to time as required and directed by Line Manager/ SupervisorWe're looking for:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance of at least SC level. In order to pass the clearance you must have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years

NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent (including recognised apprenticeship) with either a mechanical or HVAC or building services bias

F-Gas qualified Experience in a similar role, ideally on an MOD site

Working knowledge of other building services and trades
Excellent team working, customer care and problem solving capabilities
It would be advantageous, however, not essential:

Experience of Engineering Services Maintenance
Work experience in a MOD environment and compliance with MOD Safe Systems of Work (JSP375, Vol 3)
Experience of working to Critical Engineering Risk Management protocols

Experience of large air condition installations (500KW +)

Experience of Split Units, VAV systems and Fan Coil Units (FCU's) and Computer Room Air-Conditioning (CRAC) units

The successful candidate will be strong willed, tolerant and a patient individual who can empathise with the pupil's challenging needs. You will be expected to use your own initiative and set a positive example to your students to ensure as much progress as possible with their work and behaviour.

Children who have severe learning difficulties (SLD) usually have low attainment, low levels of concentration, low self-esteem, underdeveloped social skills and may have associated speech and language delay. They would need 1:1 support whilst in the classroom.

Your working hours will generally be Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:15pm. Please note this role starts ASAP.
