Reporting to the Projects Manager you will be responsible for developing, designing a compliant process design.

You will be experienced in process design, piping and chemical engineering including, development of P&ID's performing hazard and operability studies.

Key responsibilities

As the process engineering leader, you will be responsible for creation of basic design and development of detailed design with an external consultant or engineering design house.
To establish by consultation with the stakeholders the requirements, scope of work and thus mutually agree project objectives and then later liaise externally with the engineering house to develop and approve the detailed design.
To develop practical, cost effective engineering designs taking full account of the many competing factors, technical, operational and economic.
To initiate enquiries with the engineering house, evaluate proposals and collect data for the preparation of accurate and realistic budget estimates and schedules for the purpose of gaining approval to acquire capital funds by management.
To control the expenditure and time schedules for the project process implementation to ensure that it does not exceed the allocated capital funds and timelines. Escalate to management any project risks to budget or timelines in timely manner to allow remedial action to be effective. Adherence to agreed schedule and budget targets whilst minimising disruption to production.
To organise and document chemical commissioning and validation of new facilities and equipment, assuring quality assurance, environmental, health and safety factors.
Prepare and deliver operator training and issue operating/maintenance/user manuals to ensure the equipment can be operated and maintained efficiently and safely.
To limit the companies liabilities, by ensuring that standards, codes of practice and statutory requirements are incorporated into all stages of the project.
Maintains an up to date knowledge of technological advances in relevant production equipment and processes so that the company acquires the correct state of the art facilities for manufacturing its product.
To liaise with external consultants, engineers and contractors during the project execution ensuring all work carried out by them is within the requirements of the overall project remit.Essential requirements:

Degree in chemical engineering
Expected to be an expert in the application of process engineering projects in a pharmaceutical facility.
Experience in planning, designing and programming projects utilising information technology (MS Project/Excel/CAD).
Excellent attention to details
Strong communicator and collaboratorIt would be advantageous to have (not essential): Experience working on engineering projects within the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industriesand prior Knowledge of spray drying and vacuum filter drying technology

Key responsibilities

* Engineering background within Engineering - Ideally Food, FMCG, Petro, Pharma, Chem
* Worked within an Agile team environment

Duties of a ‘Electrical & Instrument Maintenance Technician’

Complete both Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance / Calibration activities to deliver planned & reactive maintenance on a range of assets from Specialist Manufacturing equipment through to vital plant utilities.
Ensure adherence to GMP, safety, quality and validation protocols at all times.
Uses predictive techniques to minimise maintenance costs and equipment downtime. Trouble shoots equipment and facilities failures and effects repairs.
Depending on specialism may work on systems to include, but not limited to, Industrial Electrical equipment, modern Instrumentation and Controls, HVAC, Refrigeration, Air and other site critical installations such as safety suppression systems.
Understands and interprets blueprints, P&ID layouts & wiring diagrams performing maintenance and repairs.

Job Description: Reporting to the technical manager the quality manager is a crucial interface between the technical manager and the quality assurance factory team and will lead the front line delivery of food safety and quality KPIs. This is a critical role ensuring that the site manufactures product which complies with food safety, quality, legal and customer codes of practice against the site’s quality management system (QMS) requirements. The incumbent will also be required to deliver ‘audit ready’ standards and meet internal and external compliance targets reversing adverse trends.

Key responsibilities: 

Manage the quality assurance (QA) team “audit ready” compliance “Healthchecks” and ensuring corrective actions from audits are implemented

Drives daily GMP KPI’s above target and develop GMP standards, work instructions and audit and verification support

Participates in the HACCP team and development of the HACCP plan. Able to verify CCP controls and review procedures. Training front line staff in HACCP principles, CCP awareness and implementation. Support QA and operational teams in factory line CCP monitoring and control requirements.

Working closely with technical and operational teams to manage the control of site allergens through effective segregation controls, cross contamination prevention and compliance with customer risk mitigation codes of practice

Champion of factory process and food hygiene controls with excellent understanding of microbiology – interprets results, defines and implements action plans with food safety, hygiene and technical managers

Ensuring line manufacturing specifications are adhered to through effective QA audit

Champion and support daily customer sensory panels and QAS standards for the delivery of consistent quality of products

Identify and investigate process and product non-conformances, assign corrective action responsibility and develop collaborative actions plans to redress adverse trends. Carry out risk assessments to support good decision making.

Working closely with the TSM, TM, operational and training teams to ensure factory SOPs meet the requirements of the QSM at line level for food safety, quality and compliance

A key contact and support on managing site visits from customers or audit bodies

Essential experience:

Chilled food industry experience (ideally meat, cooked or ready to eat products or multi component chilled foods) with demonstrable record/impact on audit success

Proven track record as front line supervisor or manager in a technical or process development function

Major retail multiple experience is ideally required and demonstrable proven track record in dealing with technologists from the major retailers

Formal auditor training

Knowledge of latest industry and retailer audit and compliance standards

Listeria management best practice and microbiology in ready to eat foods (CCFRA/CFA)

Can discuss, influence, motivate and engage and influence at all levels to obtain agreement to a course of action

Effective, assertive and compelling communicator with mature thinking and approach

Promotes team effectiveness

Preferred experience:

BSc. food related subject or science degree with relevant food experience

Ideally a trained coach with an understanding of situational leadership and team personal development, performance and selection

Level 4 food safety and hygiene

Trained in root cause analysis and basic SPC

Level 3 HACCP
