We are currently looking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated, flexible Carpet Technician for our day shift during an exciting period of growth within the group.
This role will be for our sister company, Aero Technics.
The successful candidate will be working 8.00am-17.00pm Monday to Friday.
Role Purpose
· Cut and fit carpet to parts of the aircraft
· Repair aircraft seats and other non-electrical aircraft interior components. To CMM, SB and Part 145 regulations/standards
· Complete seat work sheet and file Job I.A.W 145 standards
· To cut & over lock and fit aircraft carpets
· Ensure all work is carried out to the relevant quality standards both from a customer requirement and CAA compliance
· Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately, in a timely manner and available at all times for auditing purposes.
· Take full responsibility for quality of workmanship and working practices within the cabin
· Take full responsibility for tools and materials, ensure they are fully accounted for and any discrepancies are reported immediately
· Carry out work in a timely manner
· Be responsible for your own health and safety and for that of your colleagues as set out in the Health and Safety Policy
· Follow all necessary security procedures both within the Hangar and airside
· To perform the job in line with the Company’s policies and procedures which may be obtained from your supervisor, department manager or the Quality Manager
· If required support the Gatwick Hangar Engineering team
Key skills/experience/qualifications
· City and Guilds in an appropriate engineering and/or aviation subject
· Previous experience as a mechanical fitter

Job Purpose

* The Operational Engineers role is to deliver the engineering activities within their allocated Operational team. To undertake the delivery of Construction and Maintenance requirements relating to the UK Power Networks Services owned assets and associated infrastructure under the direction of the Lead Operational Engineer.

* To deputise for the Lead Operational Engineer when required including attendance at Client and Contractor meetings as required.

* The Operational Engineer will work with and support the Airport Managers, Lead Operational Engineer and other members of the Airport Sector’s Senior Management team in the delivery of Business objectives and future budget identification and delivery.

* Work with the Assistant Operational Engineers, Technicians, Apprentices and Contractors to undertake and complete the construction or maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner whilst minimising disruption to the client electricity supplies.

* The Operational Engineer will ensure delivery of Client focused Capital works Construction projects, N.A.M.P and maintenance plans as directed by the Lead Operational Engineer, oversee the management of substation and cabling construction and maintenance works as required on designated Client private networks Infrastructure. The position holder will work with team members to ensure high standards of safety management are maintained throughout all activities during the delivery of the engineering tasks in accordance with the UK Power Networks Services Stay Safe initiative.

Principal Accountabilities

Delivery of the Construction and Maintenance programmes for the UK Power Networks Services owned assets operating at voltages through the range 400V to 33kV

Work with the Lead Operational Engineer to ensure that all programmes of work are delivered to time and budget in line with contractual commitments to time, cost and quality

Work with Technicians and Apprentices to ensure the delivery of all engineering activities..

Assist in the management of budgets relating to the construction and maintenance delivery and meet ongoing company objectives

As a team member work to ensure that UK Power Networks Services Company ambitions are achieved especially in the areas of Staff and Client satisfaction.

Adherence to Client and UK Power Networks Services Operations and Procedures

Operation of HV and LV Distribution Protection Systems.

Testing and Commissioning of HV and LV Distribution System.

Maintenance of the Control and Protection Systems

Ensuring compliance with CDM and UK Power Networks Services Health and Safety policies

Developing site specific H,S & E procedures

Compliance with UK Power Networks Services quality policies

Operate and update Asset database in respect of project activities

Responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance activities

Carry out fault investigation and repairs as required.

Modifying equipment and drawings to ensure the efficient operation of the substations

Ensuring the compliance with the distribution safety rules during all activities.

Active supervision of all contractors/staff working on site

Undertake additional activities commensurate with the job level and competency

Main Duties

Co-ordinate day to day construction and maintenance activities with Client / Principal Contractor’s ensuring programmes are met.

Obtain quotations from suppliers and raise Purchase Order request in coordination with Finance & Governance teams.

Change Management – ensure early warning notices etc are brought to the attention of the Airport Manager / Commercial Manager & Client.

Provide technical support as part of the Airport Sector team

When deputising for the Lead Operational Engineer deliver team briefings, give feed-back where necessary

Identify potential project risks/opportunities (raise awareness within team / company)

Proactively seeking continuous improvement

Required to participate in a standby rota and work additional hours as required to maintain the supplies to the Client infrastructure

Working unsocial hours when required to respond to faults on system

Assist the Lead Operational Engineer in the development of the ongoing NAMP

Undertake the delivery of maintenance and construction activities as required to meet client requirements within their area of authorisation

Represent UKPNS when required at meetings with clients and contractors

When undertaking engineering activities manage the team of employees and contractors for the successful delivery.

When undertaking engineering activities manage the compliance with all H&S procedures such as Putting People to Work and Distribution Safety Rules.

When necessary work with other team members to carry out activities such as switchgear, battery and transformer maintenance, substation inspection cleaning and painting.

Nature and Scope

Working with the Airport Manager, Lead Operational Engineers, other team members and managers, the post holder needs to be a strong team player able to work and within a pressurised environment to focus on the successful delivery of construction and maintenance works to time and quality, and also to the client’s satisfaction. The post holder requires excellent communication skills in order to interact with both client and contractors.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

* Minimum 11kV Senior Authorised Person as defined by the Distribution Safety Rules

* Experience in distribution systems through the range 400kV to 33kV

* Security clearance for Client infrastructure Access.

* Medical & Drugs and Alcohol screening

* Educated to HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

* Working knowledge of distribution HV Systems

* Knowledge of Building Services Systems

* Working knowledge of specialist HV equipment

* Ability to read drawings and understand content

* Ability to work in different environments

* Excellent analytical, organisation & planning skills

* Ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives

* Hold full driving licence

* Ability to use Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, MS Project and other bespoke software packages.

Desirable

* A broad understanding of UK Power Networks Services businesses.

* An understanding and working knowledge of UK Power Networks Services PC&G process.

* An ability to travel around the Airport Sector’s Client portfolio.

To support Supply Chain Stores Operations in ensuring service levels and targets in terms of aircraft maintenance are met.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
-Manage the initial acceptance of all consignments to ensure they are received at the correct location, free from damage that could otherwise compromise the airworthiness of the aircraft and that they present no threat in terms of breaches of security
-Liaise with Material Planning, Purchasing, Component Repair and the Goods Inwards Inspectors to ensure a priority based receipting procedure is maintained
-Monitor and control the stocks of time expired chemicals in accordance with the Control of Substances Harmful to Health Regulations, 1992 (COSHH) prior to disposal by a licensed contractor

-To assist the Technical Storekeepers as required to maintain the efficient and effective operation of the main stores and to promote a culture of continuous improvement
-After instruction and examination hold a valid forklift operator’s licence to allow the safe and efficient movement of bulk spares and materials
-Monitor and control stocks of stationary and packaging materials and through liaison with the purchasing section to ensure that such stocks are maintained to a sufficient level.
-Perform Dispatch duties as required for the preparation and shipment of parts out of the company
-Undertake Driving responsibilities as required and subject to holding a full UK Driving License
Must Have a 1.5 ton counter balance fork lift truck Licence

Education / Qualification Requirements

-Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
-Knowledge of a computerised stores environment is desirable
-Previous experience of working in a stores environment advantageous
-Must demonstrate good numeracy skills

Job Description: We are currently looking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated, flexible On Wing Supervisor for our day shift during an exciting period of growth within the group.
This role will be for our sister company, Aero Technics.
The successful candidate will be working 6.30am – 18.30pm Monday to Thursday weekly.
Role Purpose
To be a technical focal for engineering and certification issues relating to all cabin interior work on client Airbus and Boeing aircraft fleet (A330, A340, B747 and B787). Provide cabin related technical support to all customer aircraft, working closely with the Engineering and Tech Operations team of a leading airline to control any operational disruptions for aircraft and cabin assets.
Key responsibilities
* Management of customer requirements, liaison with customer on defects and resolution to cabin related issues and problems.
* Technical lead for all on-wing cabin maintenance requirements leading a small team of qualified cabin technicians.
* Determine repairs required to the cabin per customers standards manual/or as a result of inspections completed ensuring all work is carried out to the relevant quality standards both from a customer requirement and CAA compliance.
* Review work packages for the repairs/overhaul prior to the aircraft’s arrival as generate by cabin log entries, flight line surveys, planned modifications, service bulletins or known reviewed technical data.
* Repair aircraft seats and other non-electrical aircraft interior components in accordance with CMM, Service Bulletins and Part 145 regulations/standards.
* Liaising with stores and Cabin Technical Operations for any parts required to facilitate seat rectifications and issue of EASA Form 1.
* Manage all tools and materials and take responsibility for ensuring they are always accounted for.
* Follow all necessary security procedures both within the Hangar and airside.
* Assist in assessing aircraft flooring requirements including Non-Textile Flooring and Carpets
* Complete all necessary paperwork and compliance documentation required by both the company and the customer.
Key skills/experience/qualifications
* Qualified in engineering discipline
* Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry working with an EASA Part 145, Organisation
* 2+ years previous experience in a similar role/aerospace environment

* £8.21 PER HOUR
* MINIMUM 40 HRS PW PLUS OT AVAILABLE
* VARIOUS SHIFTS STARTING BETWEEN 05:00-13:30 & FINISHING BETWEEN 13:30-22:00

Each day will be different as you may be working on different customer assignments. You will be working in a chilled environment and will be provided with the appropriate equipment and clothing.

Working in the Food Stores department, taking deliveries and ensuring goods are as requested, storing and ensuring rotation of stock etc.

ABOUT YOU:
You must have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work and enjoy working as part of team in a fast moving environment where deadlines are tight to ensure that flights depart on time.

You must also maintain a clean and safe workstation, working in a manner that promotes good health and safety practices and be prepared to wear any personal protective equipment provided. You should also be willing to undertake some manual handling/bending and reaching as part of your normal duties.
