Environmental Health Officer

A client of mine in Knowsley is looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join their team for a period of 7 weeks, the candidate will provide short term cover within the Environmental Health Commercial Team.
The candidate will predominantly be involved in carrying out food safety and food standards interventions, but from time to time will be required to assist in other areas of Environmental Health work.
The candidate will be required to demonstrate current competency requirements for food safety and food standards as per the food law code of practice.

Role Purpose:-
As part of the Environmental Health Section you will assist with the provision of a comprehensive Environmental Health service. You will primarily carry out proactive and reactive inspections, interventions and investigations in relation to food safety, food standards, health and safety and infectious disease control. You will also be required from time to time to carry out work in relation to other areas of Environmental Health, including private water supplies and animal welfare and licensing.

The basic salary for this role is £21,000, negotiable for an outstanding candidate, and there is a generous uncapped commission structure in place which would boost a successful and driven salespersons earnings considerably.

The role will be to oversee and supervise the Production and Engineering teams, with full responsibility for planned and preventative maintenance, leading the team's performance and a variety of complex tasks.

Ideally you will come from a similar FMCG environment with significant Manufacturing/Production experience at Supervisory level, alongside a HNC or above in Manufacturing, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Duties of the Manufacturing and Engineering Supervisor would include:

Managing a production team with full responsibility for team operational performance, including training and development, H&S and welfare.
Managing the engineering team for preventative and planned maintenance.
Responsible for new product introduction.
Responsible for operational timekeeping, attendance and absence management.
To lead and take responsibility for all operational health and safety initiatives.
Shared responsibility for Company on Time In-full (OTIF).
Manufacturing all customer requirements on time in full to the required standard.
Shared responsibility for the complete range of operational management, including financial and ER. Escalating and supporting as appropriate.
Shared responsibility for operational Preventative Maintenance.
Responsible for effective allocation of manpower and machinery resources.
Responsible for 5s and Lean Manufacturing.
Maintain and update KPI Charts for operational performance.
To assist, highlight and help resolve any supplier problems/issues.
To assist with supplier dispute resolution.
To undertake and lead various projects, as and when required, to optimise the management of the business' assets, highlight areas for efficiency savings or further opportunities to maximise operational performance.
To send out and organise the timely completion of reports as and when required.
Implement corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal procedure controls: including performing process/risk/audit checks.
Contribute to short, medium and long term business planning.
Drive continuous improvement in areas of control.

Required Experience:

Degree or HND/HNC or equivalent, in a relevant qualification, preferably in manufacturing, electrical or mechanical engineering.
Previous people management ideally gained in a manufacturing/unionised environment.
FLT licence desirable.

We have not one, but three opportunities for HGV Class 1 ADR Vac Tanker drivers who would to like to work full time and ongoing for a prestigious environmental company based in Kirkby. The work will be long-term and temp to perm opportunities will be considered for those who are interested.

The company operates a range of specialist equipment including a large fleet of articulated vacuum tankers able to carry a wide range of products including waste water. An ADR in tanks is essential if you want to apply for this role and you will need to have vac-tanker experience to be successful.

The work involves driving an Articulated HGV Class 1 Vehicle and the operation of a Vacuum Tanker but is not of a particularly physical nature and overtime opportunities are plentiful.

Generous rates of pay on offer:

Weekdays - £10.50 per hour between 07:30 and 16:00 pm

Weekdays - £15.75 per hour before 07:30 and after 16:00 pm

Saturdays - £15.75 all hours

Plus generous holiday accrual.

Shift pattern:

Sunday - 07:00am to 15:00pm

Main duties:

- Review production plan and determine label requirements using the stock sheet and the printing plan.
- Create product labels using the label templates, amending as required.
- Check accuracy of labels on the computer system prior to printing, ensuring any adjustments are made before the labels are printed.
- Send signal(s) to relevant machine so that product labels can be printed either in the Print Room or on the lines as required.
- Take a sample from all printed labels produced and conduct required quality checks.
- Record all quality checks and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor supplies and label stock levels by liaising with the packaging team.
- Use and monitor print room equipment.
- Provide support and assistance in relation to Stock activities and the Warehouse Management / ERP system.
- Notify management of any issues and concerns that may affect productivity, quality, and safety, including print room machine efficiencies and breakdowns.
- Ensure that all the requirements of the Company's Health and Safety Policy are observed and adhered to.

Characteristics required:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
- Self-motivated with an ability to prioritise and work independently.
- IT literate with good knowledge of working with computers. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Bartender would be desirable
- Team player - supportive of others.
- Good communication skills including written/spoken English

The Warehouse Administrator will have the following job roles and responsibilities:

Plan shipments based on product availability and customer requests
Track orders to ensure timely deliveries
Prepare shipping documents (like invoices, purchase orders)
Coordinate our supply chain procedures to maximize quality of delivery
Schedule shifts for our drivers and warehouse staff
Maintain updated records of orders, suppliers and customers
Oversee the levels of our warehouse stock and place orders as needed

The Requirements:

To be suitable for the position of Warehouse Administrator you will ideally have the following:

Must have previous warehousing experience
A background working within the pharmaceutical industry is ideal though similarly regulated industries may also be considered
IT skillsThe package:

The successful Warehouse Administrator will receive the following:

Salary circa £18,000 - £19,000
Company pension after qualifying period
Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pmThis position is commutable from Liverpool, Everton, St Helens, Knowsley, Widnes and Huyton

Job Description: We are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) within the Knowsley Area. If you are an experienced Teaching Assistant then Prospero has your next role waiting for you.

This PRU caters for students between the age of 5 and 16 who are on the verge or have been excluded from mainstream education due to a variety of reasons, mostly due to emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The students have a range of SEN including complex needs, behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, communication difficulties and those with a diagnosis of autism.

This role is on a full time long term basis with a view to becoming a permanent member of staff in September.

To be suitable for this role you will need:

Proven track record working with challenging behaviours, either within a mainstream or PRU school

De-escalation training such as Team Teach or equivalent

Strong personality and to be able to diffuse difficult situations

The role responsibilities include;

1:1 and class support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties

Building positive working relationships with staff, pupils and parents
