The firm is looking to recruit Tax Assistants to join the Tax Hub based in central Liverpool. The Tax Hub is one of several teams within BDO’s rapidly growing Shared Service Centre (SSC). SSC team members work internally within the business providing support to the client facing members of the firm. You’ll also:

* Support regional client facing tax teams with personal and corporate tax returns and related tax compliance duties

* Work extensively with BDO’s tax software and workflow tools

* Deliver Team outputs to agreed timescales, quality and volume

* Deal with internal queries with colleagues and teams across BDO UK

* Provide support to other colleague teams dependent upon seasonality of core work.

Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
Enter requests for home visits onto the home visit screen,
Action repeat prescription requests
Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, and direct to the appropriate manager to accept payment and issue receipts
Enter patient information on to the computer as required.
Open up premises at the start of the day when first to arrive, and make all necessary preparations to receive patients.

Profile

You will already have experience of working within a medical GP practice, and have strong customer service skills.

You will be comfortable with your knowledge of administrative processes within a GP practice, and be looking for a long term and stable position.

What you will be doing?

You will support the Internal Communications Manager with day to day internal communications activities and support project communications, including copywriting for all internal communications channels (intranet, staff weekly news emails, daily staff messages & blogs), proactively sending out good news stories and working with teams to develop communications content.

What can you bring to the role?

You will have experience within a communications role along with excellent writing and communication skills, and plenty of ideas! Shift Pattern is 4 on 4 off (two 12 hour days followed by two 12 hour nights)

Day to day responsibilities:

Develop and complete Standard Operating Instruction documentation for your area of responsibility and ensure that all operations within the team are carried out according to the standard operating instructions.

Maintain Key performance indicators and measures in line with business objectives

Allocate employees, tasks and resources as necessary in order to ensure on time completion of production activity to meet customer delivery schedules.

As first line manager for employee's, manage and deal with grievances and any other issues of dissatisfaction.

Together with support from the HR Department, investigate any disciplinary matters and apply appropriate disciplinary sanctions as applicable.

Monitor and manage absence and lateness, ensuring that adequate records are kept and that Return to Work Interviews are completed, together with appropriate documentation.

Communicate information to the team regarding targets, quality, process changes etc. together with any other information as required.

Conduct regular housekeeping audits and ensure that employees are educated in the importance of good housekeeping. Encourage good housekeeping as an integral part of working day.

Ensure that faulty or damaged materials are identified and handled in accordance with the Company systems to ensure accurate trace ability of substandard materials/components on a daily basis.

Ensure waste streams are identified and separated in accordance with our environmental obligations.

At the end of each shift ensure that the work area is prepared for handover to the next First Line Manager.

Ensure that all Fork Lift truck checks (TPM and PPM) are carried out in line with the Procedure.

Education:

Experience managing teams in a manufacturing or similar environment

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an Engineering related or managerial discipline

Understanding of Continuous Improvement processes and activities is highly desirable

Experience of working positively with Trade Unions is desirable

Competent user of excel and Microsoft office package
