We are recruiting for a Counterbalance Forklift Driver to work for prestigious company based in Penrith. This company supplies different abrasives such as lakegrit, lakeblast, lakeglass and many more. As a business they like to make sure that customers are getting the best possible service by ensuring that all of their products are packed and ready to be delivered the same day.

Your main duties will include collecting bags weighing up to 25kgs off a conveyor belt and stacking them on a pallet in order to be moved with a forklift truck.

You must be physically fit to do this position and have experience in labouring and forklift work.

SHIFT PATTERN:

Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm

PAY RATE:

£10 Per hour

You will be required to hold a full UK driving license & Forklift counterbalance license.

Structures Team Leader

Kier Strategic Highways are looking to recruit a Structures Team Leader to join the Highways Design Services business.

Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.

Job Purpose:

To take the lead and manage a team to prepare scheme designs, design checks, feasibility reports, asset management strategies and documentation in accordance with specified briefs and in line with the time and budgetary allocations.
To oversee and review structural inspections and manage and lead structural assessments.
To assist in the overall delivery of the workload of the Structures team within the Design Services Structures office.Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the successful delivery of the programme of work by managing, developing and overseeing sound design solutions to meet client requirements within budget and timescale, following Kier processes and procedures as well as any Client specific requirements.
Developing and designing solutions in accordance to National design standards, procedures and requirements and any specific parameters.
Production or overseeing of scheme documents and reports.
Contribute to compliance with the Quality Management Systems including site specific audits.
Production and overseeing of designs that comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations.
Adhere to Health and Safety requirements within the workplace, ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.
Contribute to the regular reporting of progress to external clients and communicating with internal line managers regarding progress against planned programme
Assist in the mentoring and development of staff to grow organically and the development of in-house structures capability.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

To be a chartered engineer (MICE/MIStructE or equivalent)
A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Demonstrable broad in-depth experience in inspection, assessment, design and construction of highway structures
Experience of working on design contracts
Experience in using relevant software
Experience of design of highway structures to Eurocode
Knowledge and experience of the main management systems & processes used within a similar business
Leading and managing technical and project teams within a business environment
Able to take full technical responsibility for team outputs
Must be computer literate
Ability to work without supervision essential, you will have the drive and determination to meet targets

Job Description: Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Disclosure and Compliance Officer to work within a Professional Standards Department in Penrith.

The main responsibility is to provide a decision making capability in respect of requests for information received under the Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts and in accordance with the 2013 Protocol and Good Practice Model.

The successful candidate will ensure police information is managed in accordance with the Code of Practice on the Management of Police Information 2005, Human Rights Act 1998, Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information Act 2000. The candidate will also undertake reviews of person records to assess compliance with MOPI and to help manage the risks posed by known offenders other potentially dangerous persons.

Key Responsibilities:

- To act as a Decision Maker in respect of requests for information received under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, liaising with Information Owners, considering applicable exemptions and the public interest test where appropriate. The candidate will also ensure that responses are provided to applicants within the statutory timescale.
- Upon receipt of a request for an internal review of the Constabulary's handling of a freedom of information request, act as an independent reviewer, advising the applicant of the outcome as soon as possible.
- Act as a Decision Maker in respect of requests for information received under the Data Protection Act 2018, applying exemptions as appropriate, ensuring that a response is provided to the applicant within the statutory timescale.
- Review draft responses to "business as usual" requests for information,which will be prepared by Disclosure and Audit Assistants, making disclosure decisions in accordance with relevant legislation, internal policies and procedures and national guidance, where applicable.
- Advise personnel within the Public Protection Unit, Local Intelligence Officers and Force Intelligence Bureau on MoPI principles regarding high risk offenders and management strategies.

The successful candidate will have experience in auditing and compliancy, and have a clear understanding of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Please Note: As this is a role with the Police, the successful candidate will be subject to SC Vetting, therefore candidates must have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.

We have several exciting opportunities for HGV Class 1 Non ADR Tanker Drivers to work for our prestigious utilities client based in Penrith. This company keeps the taps flowing and the toilets flushing for 3 million homes and 200,000 businesses across the North West

These roles would ideally suit experienced drivers looking for flexible work on standby relief for 12 hours per day. The beauty of this job is you get to choose which days you are available for standby, and how many standby shifts per week you want to commit to.

You will drive a Class 1 articulated tanker filled with water from A to B and you will be fully trained on loading procedures. You will be on standby at home from 09:00 to 07:00 (although some flexibility may sometimes be required) and you might be called out at any point between these times.

You will receive a standby retainer of £50 per day Monday to Friday and £75 per day for Saturdays and Sundays. If you are called out you will receive £13 per hour Monday to Friday, £16 per hour for Saturdays and £21 per hour for Sundays in addition to the standby retainer. Once you have passed your training your rates will increase to £14.27 weekdays, £18.04 for Saturdays and £24.04 for Sundays.

You must have:

HGV Class 1 licence with less than 6 penalty points.
Full Drivers CPC card.
Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous tanker driving experience.
Be able to get to Penrith within 30 minutes.If you have all the above and like the idea of working in the utilities industry, you could be one of the very people we are looking for.

Kier Highways are looking to recruit a Senior Ecologist to join our Design Services business in Penrith.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing and designing solutions in accordance to Highways England and other client standards, procedures and requirements and meeting environmental requirements e.g. Environment Agency and Natural England.
Production of accurate and concise scheme documents and reports.
Production of designs that comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations.
Programming of assessments, further site surveys, watching briefs and organising Environmental contractors on behalf of the project manager.
Input into scoping and assessment for large scale improvements.
Determination of risk and receptors for environmental, heritage, ecological features and design mitigation for impacts.
Undertaking desk studies and carry out specialist ecological surveys and assessments, including phase 1 and protected species.
Keep up to date with new environmental policies and legislation.
Input and review of the relevant procedures.Key Skills and Qualification:

Relevant degree and/or experience of ecology in the construction industry.
Experience of working with protected species.
Holding some licenses such as GCN and/or bat licence essential.
Highways experience preferred
