A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a Central Government Body who are looking to hire a proactive, forward thinking and assertive individual to take on a Project Manager role which can be based across multiple sites in the UK.
My client is looking for an individual who has experience of managing a portfolio of projects successfully with an innovative approach towards delivery and speed progress. A qualified, or ability to quickly acquire PRINCE2 Practitioner status is essential in the role or other structured methodologies. Security Clearance Essential.
Accountabilities
- Prepare Business Cases and project plans which contribute to achievement of the Business Plan and 5 Year Strategy and are based on a sound understanding of resource availability and capability. Work with project leads to agree project scope, milestones, risks and priorities. Define roles and responsibilities and schedule work to meet identified business needs and benefits within time, cost and quality parameters.
- Develop in an inclusive manner all project-related approaches including Project Initiation Document, highlight reports, risk registers, formal change control processes and completion reports in accordance with project management best practice and in a manner that gains ownership and buy in from colleagues.
- Lead on co-ordinating of the work of project teams instigating appropriate action when performance deviates from plan, to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and that interdependencies are identified and actively managed.
- Continually manage and monitor the progress of projects and associated risks providing timely and appropriate advice including associated documentation such as Highlight Reports, Lessons Learned and End Project Reports, to ensure progression and control of commissioned projects, raising significant issues to the Project Lead for resolution along with solutions and recommendations for remedial action.
- Identify key milestones and inter-dependencies across all projects to ensure efficient and effective progress, proactively monitoring detailed project work-streams through to formal closure to ensure all projects are effectively managed and delivered.
- Identify, develop and establish progressive ways of working focussed on speeding delivery and quality of outputs.
- Identify the added value of projects within the portfolio, ensuring proportionate governance and that alternative means of progression are advanced to ensure delivery of anticipated benefits.
- Provide recommendations to Head of Unit and senior management regarding optimal ways of working, identifying where new initiatives might be warranted and/or existing initiatives could be improved or ceased
- Build consensus across a large and often diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, successfully managing engagement and be an advocate for the project and for change, generating interest and buy in throughout the business
- Prioritise the overall corporate good, maintaining professional boundaries to designated work areas and constructive challenge when needed.
- Identify and embed lessons learned, taking responsibility for communicating them throughout the organisation and enabling colleagues to apply the learning gained.
- Develop knowledge and expertise in associated tools and techniques such as business process improvement and workplace reviews, to be applied as needed as defined by organisational need.

Essential

- Experience of successful project management delivery simultaneously, across a portfolio of projects.
- Experience of successfully applying project management processes and procedures within a PRINCE2 environment
- Recent and relevant experience of project initiation
- Recent experience of delivering an innovative approach to delivery and of speeding progress.
- Resource planning in a complex environment.
- Excellent negotiating and networking skills, able to form beneficial working relationships internally and externally
- Proven influencing skills and ability to assert professional expertise.
- Excellent oral and written communicator, able to engage with and present to a range of audiences and represent the organisation effectively in varied forums.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments to deliver projects successfully and to challenge and remove any unnecessary barriers to service delivery.
- A well-developed understanding of what constitutes best practice in project management
- A creative and proactive approach to problem solving.
- An advocate for change with the ability to constructively overcome any resistance and bring people on board with new ways of working.
- Have practical experience in actively managing project risks.
- Able to make decisions, engage in dialogue on risk management strategy, and demonstrate a level of skill beyond simply 'managing a process'.
- A good understanding of associated business improvement tools and techniques.

Job Description: My local authority client are looking for a Youth Offending Officer to join their team on a full time, temporary basis. Starting at the beginning of May until the end of June 2020 unless extended. My client are looking to pay £13.64ph.

Job Purpose:

To reduce offending by working within national and local guidance and through undertaking a range of tasks within and on behalf of the Service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1.To undertake all duties and responsibilities within the framework of National Standards for Youth Justice, Team and Policy and Procedures and inter-agency Protocols.

2.To be involved in the effective delivery of the service during and outside of office hours and at Bank Holidays and weekends as required, including one to one work and group work in the office and at external venues including court and home visits.

3.To undertake assessments and plan interventions with all young people, their parents and carers which take account of (a) risk to victim(s), the public and self; (b) of offending; (c) of individual development needs (personal/social, family, health, education/employment).

4.To ensure they are familiar with relevant legislation and national and local policies relating to Youth Justice and to effective practice developments.

5. To work cooperatively with colleagues from own and other disciplines and in partnership arrangements.

6. To meet all requirements relating to the maintenance of formal records of assessments, work with young people and case management supervision.

7. To participate fully in individual supervision, team meetings, training opportunities,

Inter-agency meetings and in opportunities to contribute to the strategic development of

Youth Offending Services.

8. To share information and meet confidentiality requirements, as agreed within the Service and

in protocol arrangements with other departments and agencies.

9. Any other duties and responsibilities within the range of the salary grade

Candidate criteria:

·Knowledge of current Youth Justice and Children’s legislation including Safeguarding policy and Offender Management principles.

·Knowledge of child development and behaviour including the risk factors relating to young people involved in crime.

·Knowledge of issues faced by young people, particularly in relation to race, gender, sexuality and disability, and of how to challenge inequalities professionally.

·Knowledge of methods and models of intervention and anti-oppressive practice.

·Effective communication skills: high standard of written English; confident and professional verbal skills; ability to listen, and to accurately interpret body language.

·Able to use computer-based programs: to write reports; to complete case management recording; and to provide monitoring and evaluation information.

·Confident and able to interact in a wide range of professional settings, including with children and young people, family and carers, multi-agency settings, communities, and the formal Court process.

·Able to engage resistant children, young people and families, to deal with a range of challenging behaviours, and to provide an appropriate role model.

·Able to undertake assessment and analysis of risk of harm, vulnerability and factors relating to offending for the preparation of a variety of reports and subsequent interventions.

·To have organisation and planning skills in relation to managing individual workload andto have a flexible approach working within a team, whilst dealing with conflicting demands and coping with stressful situations.

·To be able to effectively engage with both offenders and their families and the victims of crime to facilitate positive change.

Job Description: Our local authority client is looking for a Grave Digger to join their team on a full time, temporary basis. This is currently a full time position until the end of April 2020 unless extended.

Job Summary

To assist in the upkeep of the City’s six Cemetery’s, undertaking a wide range of horticultural and grave digging duties, this will include grass cutting, hedge cutting, collecting wreaths, manually and mechanical digging and preparing graves, dress graves ready for interment and back filling and tidying of graves.

The job requires that you will work outside in all weathers (PPE will be provided) to ensure that we fulfil our commitments.

Candidate Profile

The candidate must be physically fit and be willing to work in all weathers and work well in a team to meet tight deadlines, ideally, they will have a knowledge in either grounds maintenance and/or grave digging.

The candidate must be aware of the sensitive nature of the type of work we do and be aware of family’s needs.

They are looking for a Concierge Officer to join their Coventry team. Delivering an excellent service to their customers by proactively monitoring CCTV, managing access control to buildings, dealing professionally with enquiries and conducting site visits to nominated locations are key elements of the role.

The successful individual will be dependable and reliable, able to work well on their own and within a team and be flexible. Having the right approach to dealing with customers politely and professionally, handling incidents effectively and having a commitment to excellent service is important. As part of a wider team you will be able to work effectively to support keeping our people and buildings safe and achieve positive outcomes. You will deal with emergency situations and incidents and will need to assess the situation and call out the appropriate personnel and where necessary help make the situation safe.

For this role you will need to be a competent IT user, have a full UK driving licence and be willing to fulfil a range of tasks including some outdoors. Physically able to undertake the walking of stairs in high rise buildings you will also be expected to undertake some lifting, pushing etc. To be successful you will need to have excellent communication skills with the aptitude to utilise CCTV and Door Entry systems (training will be provided). You will be expected to take personal responsibility, follow safe working practices, use your initiative and stay current with matters affecting the service and the team. You will also need to support wider Neighbourhoods Team initiatives and customer interactions.
