Your new company
Hays are working with residential care settings, based in Coventry and Warwickshire. These settings provide support for individuals who suffer from the following; Learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour and emotional behavioural disorders.

Your new role
As a support worker, you will required to care for the individuals in the settings following their care plans. This will require you too carry out levels of personal care, moving and handling and where appropriate, administer medication. You also may be required to carry out risk assessments and reviews on the service users, supporting the management team within the settings.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to qualify for this role you must have previous experience working within a residential or care setting (minimum f 6 months**). More importantly, you will need to be able to connect to the service user on a personal level, allowing yourself to understand them and their needs. It is important you provide your most professional practice at all times, being motivate and dedicated to being the best support worker possible.

Job Description: We are seeking accomplished Nursing Home Manager for a client I represent that specialises in supporting elderly people with dementia in a 28 bed nursing home. They seeking a new manager to come in and assist with bringing the home back to achieving a 'good' rating. In their latest report they were graded 'requires improvement'.

The salary: £34,000-£38,000 (NMC PIN preferred but not essential)

Non-nurse candidates for this position MUST have good nursing home management experience.

The Main duties of the role:

* Register with the CQC and thereafter manage the running of the home in line with CQC legal regulations, as well as company policy and procedures.
* Promote the highest standards of care and service to all clients.
* Proactively source new clients and seek to develop and grow the business.
* Develop relationships with key customers and service providers, i.e. local councils, NHS Trusts
* Manage nurses and care managers and assist in their role development and career enhancement.
* Clinically assess prospective service users of the organisations services, and to provide clinical review if they become a service user.
* To work in participation with all clinicians who are involved with service users.
* To support the development of bespoke Care plans and risk assessments for each service users.
* To carry out spot checks and competencies
* To develop MAR charts
* To manage field staff supervisions
* To deal with clinical complaints
* Provide cover to service user if needed
* On call for emergency queries, evening and weekends.

Working hours

* Working hours will usually be 40 hours per week, subject to achievement of goals and objectives. You will be expected to an on-call home manager and facilitate when needed.

Requirements

* An experienced leader, confident in interviews and able to grow, and manage a team of carers
* At least two years' experience in the care industry in a registered home manager's role, working within a nursing home enviroment with a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' CQC rating
* Must have NVQ Level 5 or above
* Must have a full driving license
* Have knowledge of managing a Nursing Home

To be an active and encouraging member of the Care team, contribute to team meetings, ensuring good communication and participate in the induction and training of newly appointed care assistants, ensuring that the Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment.

Job Description: My client, who specialise in providing supported living services and accommodation to vulnerable young people aged between 16 - 25 years, are looking for Key Workers to join their team in the West Midlands area, on a permanent basis. Working hours will vary each week around the hours included in the list below. Successful candidates will have two days off per week, but total working hours will be 44hours per week.
Shifts include:
8am - 5pm
5pm - 10pm
10pm - 8am (sleep)
If you are motivated to help young people achieve independence then this may be of interested to you. This work involves safeguarding and support plans, tailored on the needs of the young people (16-25), to help them develop the skills needed to be independent. Whilst this involves lone working you would be part of a wider support team who work with the young people in their own accommodation.
To be successful, you must:
- Have previous experience working as a Key Worker/Senior
- Have experience and knowledge of safeguarding young people
- Be comfortable and confident dealing with challenging behaviours
- Be totally flexible to work across a rota including weekends, evenings and some sleep ins
- Have an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
You will be required to work at different locations around the West Midlands area therefore a full clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
