An opportunity has arisen for a Group Engineering Estimator to join the team at MEL Aviation based in Sudbury, Suffolk.

JOB PURPOSE:

The role is to provide a centre of excellence for estimating, tooling and labour associated with the manufacture of commercial and aerospace machined components and assemblies.

The role will provide co-ordination of multiple projects simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Experienced mechanical engineer with an indentured apprenticeship, or the equivalent skills and experience

* Ability to read engineering drawings

* At least 5 years previous estimating experience (within an engineering and fabrication environment) Ideally an Estimator within a multi discipline manufacturing environment, specialising in high precision components

* Familiar with manufacturing processes, raw material specifications and costing methodologies

* Exceptional commercial awareness

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Receive multiple packs of engineering drawings and estimate labour cost for high precision components using CNC turning, CNC milling, including 5 axis, grinding, fabrications, welding (including TIG, MIG, and ARC), brasing. Using materials Steel, Aluminium, Titanium, Nickel Alloys, Plastics and Castings in a timely manner to meet quote deadlines

* Ability to source/quote for all types of plating and paint finish and create bill of materials where none exists

* Liaise effectively with customers throughout each project, maintaining the MEL Group’s reputation for commitment and professionalism

* To identify opportunities for increased cost effectiveness

* Plan, organise and accurately monitor workload to meet strict deadlines

SALARY:

Dependent on skills and relevant experience

This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, working 40 hours per week with a daily 1-hour lunch break.

Notting Hill Genesis is one of the largest providers of housing related support to single homeless people within Suffolk. The aim of our services is to ensure our customers achieve their goals and aspirations through the support, encouragement and guidance of our staff.

Located across two of our young people's schemes in Sudbury, the primary focus of the Project Worker is to deliver person centred services and support clients in a range of areas, including finding employment, recovery from addiction, and building stability through a range of social activities. These schemes are accommodation based environments supporting homeless young people between the ages of 16-21 who may have experienced drug, alcohol, substance misuse problems, and/or have varying support needs.
A successful outcome is achieved when our customers can move on to more suitable long-term accommodation, appropriate to their needs.

You will be required to lone work and use your own initiative so you'll need to be strong willed and confident as you will be supporting customers that can display challenging behaviour. We want to find motivational individuals that have a genuine interest working with vulnerable people.

Hours will be 39 hours a week on a 3 week rolling basis:
11am - 8pm Monday to Thursday, 12pm-8pm on Friday
10am - 6pm Monday to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off then 8am-6pm Saturday and Sunday
8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am until 4.30pm Friday

Experience

Our Project Workers are employed at two levels:

Entry level - Experience / knowledge associated with addiction, substance misuse and/ or homelessness would be a big advantage. We are also looking for inspirational people who will seize the potential of making a difference in people's lives.
Salary offered for this level will be the lower end of £18,252

Advanced level - Knowledge of Housing and of the range of benefits available are essential for a level 2 Project worker. You must also have 1 year+ experience working in similar supported accommodation settings with a proven track record that demonstrates both your skill and resilience in the role.
Previous experience in working in young people's services would also be suitable for this role.
Salary offered for this level will be the higher end of £19,738

All applicants must have strong written and verbal skills. Good IT skills are also essential as a large amount of work is done on the computer, including database management, e-mail communications and spread sheets.

Key duties

Job Description: The Just Recruitment Group is recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller on behalf of one of our clients based on the outskirts of Sudbury.

The main purpose of this role is the ensure that the customer credit accounts are paid within the agreed terms. The successful candidate will have the ability to demonstrate a high degree of competency in analytical thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.

Responsibilities:
- Chasing debt
- Issuing statements, invoices and credit notes
- Running credit checks and reviewing credit limits
- Dealing with customer queries
- Reconciliation of payments and bank accounts
- Managing the automated cash procedures
- Vetting of new account applications
- Preparation of aged debt reports
- Managing returns and liaising with internal staff and customers regarding returns
- Debt insurance administration
- Establishing a good working relationship with internal staff, customers, financial
institutions and suppliers

Skills and experience:
- Previous experience of working in a Credit Controller role is essential
- Proactive, firm but customer focused approach to collection of money via telephone calls,
letters and emails.
- Knowledge of SAP
- Knowledge of Sage Pay
- Microsoft office
- Flexible approach to work to manage, prioritise and work to deadlines
- Ability to problem solve
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Team player
- Analytical skills
