As a Ward Clerk, you will have an exceptional administration skill set and understanding of healthcare terminology, including previous experience in working within a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or a GP surgery.
You will be working alongside ward staff and report to the Ward Manager where you will be responsible for service users files, documentation and compliance, and managing ward calls.

Location - Thatcham, Berkshire
Salary - £21,000 per annum
Hours - 37.5 per week (Full-Time) Monday to Friday
Your responsibilities
Provides efficient and effective administrative support to the Wards and senior clinicians of a particular unit.
Maintains service files and notes, including the filing of all patient information in a timely and efficient manner.
Uses service users Information System to update, admit, discharge or record patients and their records as appropriate.
Ensures that all ward areas are supplied with necessary clinical forms and information as appropriate.
Assists Ward Managers and other senior clinicians as required, e.g. typing duties, stationery, maintaining records of bank nurses, etc.
Assists in other clinical areas of the hospital as required - e.g. maintains Pharmacy stock levels, etc.
Ensures the services and support provide offers good value for money and supports the overall aim of the site.
To be successful in this role, you'll need
The role holder should be educated to GCSE (Grades A-C) or equivalent standard, and should possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience within an administrative, customer service, clinical or other appropriate background.
Generally, the role holder will work within existing procedures and processes, however, there will occasionally be the need for more adaptive thinking, particularly when dealing with patients and their relatives etc.
Communications will be with patients, as well as with other staff, and will regularly require some judgement, as information will need to be gathered to facilitate correct administrative records. The nature of the role means that the role holder may be faced with some challenging situations
The problems faced by patients may present difficult and challenging situations, which may heighten the physical, sensory and emotional demands of the role.

Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET
You will be working at Thornford Park, a 130 bedded independent hospital which supports service users that require medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services. In addition to these services there is also a PICU Mental Health Service.
The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering people in their recovery and rehabilitation.
Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder, and females and males in a PICU service.
