Tradewind are currently working with a great Special School in Walsall that specialises in supporting pupils with various abilities, ranging from moderate learning difficulties to complex and profound needs (ASD / MLD/ SLD / PMLD). The post requires a talented SEN / SEND TA who is flexible, enthusiastic and dedicated to supporting children with educational needs to join their team of dedicated staff.

All applicants must have a minimum of 3 months experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEN / SEND) in addition to a minimum of 6 months working with children. The role starts in February 2020 with a view to be permanent by the new academic year.

Due to the nature of the children attending the school the role will require personal care including feeding. For every child you support on a one to one / 1:1 basis you will receive their care plan, so you are fully aware of the child's back ground and requirements. The school caters for pupils who range from the age of 4 up to 19 and offer a great support system, before your first day you will be given a full induction to ensure you're comfortable in using their facilities and are efficient in utilising their resources and equipment.

You will need to feel confident within a SEND classroom environment and be able to take direction from a class teacher.

To be responsible for BCS warehouse duties including picking, packing and shipping of customer orders. Receiving orders into the depot and restocking the warehouse. Complete audits as requested and contribute to the annual stock check. Assist with loading delivery drivers and daily courier service. Working as part of the supplies operations team and providing full operational support to all areas of the business.

BCS Group, part of the Barhale Group, is a privately owned company first established in 1980. BCS Group is a leading supplier of safety and construction products and services that operates from our central manufacturing and distribution centre in the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer orders

Complete the picking of customer orders as instructed by the department Team Leader. Ensure stock is accurately picked using picking lists issued from the system, from warehouse locations and goods for order bays.

Orders are to be packed securely and moved to the relevant transport bays.

Forward order bays must be checked daily and orders moved across to driver bays as required.

Branded Clothing

Process branded clothing orders using heat seal equipment and heat seal stock as requested on picking lists.

Pick stock as required for embroidery and pack for delivery to embroidery supplier on allocated delivery day.

Transfer embroidered stock received in the depot to relevant driver bays as per the paperwork supplied by the Team Leader.

Other Duties

Assist with trade counter customers and customers arriving for collections.

Complete driving jobs where required, including deliveries to customers and collections from suppliers.

Load vehicles daily, checking the goods against the daily routing paperwork to ensure all orders allocated are loaded onto the correct drivers and courier delivery drivers.

Provide back up for goods in duties during busy periods;

Receive and sign for orders delivered to the depot. Complete checks for goods received to the supplier paperwork for accuracy. All damaged stock received, and stock discrepancies to be reported to the Team Leader and Procurement Team immediately.

Transfer stock from the goods in bays to warehouse locations and the Safety Department goods in bay throughout the day. Paperwork to be handed to the Team Leader to complete the booking in procedure.

All goods received for customer orders to be stocked in correct goods for order bays.

Assist other departments with operational work during busy periods as required.

Commercial

Maintain accurate stock levels within the system by ensuring orders are picked accurately.

Report stock issues and highlight where customer orders could potentially be delayed.

Complete stock audits as requested, feeding back to the Team Leader and Quality Team.

Support the business during annual stock checks.

Health and Safety

Complete tasks in accordance with the depot risk assessments, notify the Team Leader of any potential noncompliance. Report accidents and near misses using the correct methods.

Ensure the correct PPE is used in the depot at all times.

Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping, ensure areas are free from waste and trip hazards etc

Provide back up for completing weekly checks for all equipment used within the depot as listed on department noticeboard.

Quality

Ensure works are carried out in accordance with processes.

Contribute to continuous improvement by providing suggestions and feedback to Team Leaders and Management.

Work to agreed timescales updating the Team Leader on progress. Maintain good communication with Team Leaders and Management at all times.

All orders are to be wrapped, banded and packaged as per delivery method.

Our client Walsall Council are looking for a EXTERNAL FUNDING BID WRITER.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Working under the direction of the External Funding and Business Development Manager, to raise our game in bidding for and securing significant levels of external funding that supports the Council and its partners to achieve their ambitions and strategic objectives. This includes; drafting an External Funding Strategy, identifying and securing funding from a range of agencies, leading on bid submission, and coordinating action across Council services and partners to maximize success.
As a Bid Writer, your key duties will include:
* To support the drafting, consulting on and implementation of a new External Funding Strategy that focusses delivery against Council priorities.
* To lead / deliver active joint working across Council departments and key partners / stakeholders that supports the successful implementation of the External Funding Strategy.
* To take responsibility for establishing and running a successful External Funding Group that brings together key players to develop funding proposals, share resources and good practice to ensure success.
* To develop strong relationships with the Voluntary, Private and Commercial Sectors across Walsall and beyond, to support the delivery of the External Funding Strategy.
* To ensure that wherever possible that external grants procedures and any delegated responsibilities are complied with and that all parties understand their responsibilities for each application they are responsible for.
* Ultimately to lead on the drafting of bid submissions, that are timely, of high quality and that succeed in bringing significant amounts of new funding into Walsall.
Ability, Skills, Knowledge:
* Excellent knowledge of External Funding Application methods and techniques
* A fully detailed knowledge and understanding of Funding streams that can support Economic Development / Regeneration etc.
* Proven experience of securing tenders and public sector contracts
* Excellent presentation and written communication skills, for a wide variety of audiences
* Strong numeracy skills, with previous experience of compiling and managing budgets
* Effective negotiation skills
* Excellent ICT skills and abilities
* Able to prioritise a varied workload and keep track of a large volume of ongoing projects with multiple and conflicting deadlines
* Detailed understanding of how to market effectively across a range of mediums to a range of audiences.
* The ability to form and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of people from a diverse range of bodies and organisations
Experience:
* Experience of securing match funding (cash and in kind) from a range of partners
* Experience of presenting reports and submissions to a wide range of senior officials
* Experience of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with senior officials within external organisations and agencies
* Marketing experience, ideally in a fundraising environment
* Experience of operating within and understanding the Political environment, managing relationships with key members at all levels.
* Line Management / Supervisory Skills
Qualification:
* Educated to degree level or possessing equivalent experience within the appropriate fields.
* A relevant funding or project qualification e.g. IOF, AMP, PRINCE 2.
* Significant experience of bid writing within the Private/Public Sector, Local Authority or multi-sector/partnership environment
