THE ROLE

Are you an experienced CMM Programmer and passionate quality professional looking for a new challenge? We're adding to our growing Quality team at our Autocraft Machining Solutions facility in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire and require a CMM
Programmer to create inspection programmes for co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM), to generate appropriate and accurate data to inform the business and customers.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, on a day-to-day basis you'll be creating and/or amending programmes for existing CMM machines, perthometer and surface roughness measuring equipment in support of production and customer quality requirements, proficiently interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerances from drawings and models.

You'll be performing standard measurements using Vernier height gauges, micrometer and similar equipment as required. You'll be comfortable in conducting appropriate training for CMM inspectors in all MPT measurement equipment/systems as necessary.

From time-to-time, you maybe required to operate the CMM as required to support production covering for absence if necessary.

You'll provide support to our New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering and Purchasing Teams with supplier selection, supplier monitoring and development, and driving continuous improvement activities.

As a team-player, you'll support the NPI team with programmes, one-off checks and measurement support for PPAP submissions, capability studies etc. as required. You'll support reverse engineering functions with measurement data, and analyse and report dimensional, statistical, capability and measurement system data using QStat software to the Quality Engineers, Quality Team Leader and/or Project Team.

You'll be eager to make recommendations to the Quality Engineers and Quality Team Leader and/or Project Team for improvements based on the analysis of measurement data, and will have a key role in supporting supplier assessments against the requirements of industry standards as required, providing information and explanation as appropriate. You'll liaise with Quality Engineers on key quality problems, supporting 8D activities.

Critically, you'll be the maintainer of internal CMM related documentation of quality elements and ensure corrective actions are implemented. You'll participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process as part of the team, particularly supporting the quality elements. And as CMM Programmer you'll contribute to the update of the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documents and Product Control Plans in accordance with changes to process or new processes as required.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

A Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is essential. Studying for or have achieved Institute of Quality Assurance membership is desirable.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years proven experience, preferably within an automotive environment, is essential, covering APQP and Quality Assurance (QA) activities.

Proven experience of CMM programming:

* Zeiss experience is ESSENTIAL

* Mitutoyo experience is desirable

* Proven experience of first principle measurement activities

* Proven experience of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) activities

Skills

* IT literacy, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint

* Interpretation of geometric tolerancing and 2D drawings

* Good communication skills

* Problem Solving using recognised tools and techniques

* Understanding and experience of APQP, FMEAs, PPAP, SPC

* Familiarity with Q-DAS or similar software would be an advantage

We are looking for a number of CNC Machine Operators who have experience on CNC machining centres to join our busy and growing shop floor at our Autocraft Machining Solutions facility, working on a range of high-quality Heller, Grob and Matsuura machine tools!

THE ROLE:

Based at the company’s Wellingborough site our CNC Machine Operators work in various parts of the factory producing the highest quality engine and structural components supplied to prestigious clients such as Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, Perkins, Austro Engine and many more. Operating a variety of high-quality precision machining centres, your role will involve carefully following process sheets, loading and unloading components, safe operation of machining centres and other machinery involved in the process such as washes, gauging and other assembly equipment. Full training will be provided along with company uniform and PPE necessary to ensure highest levels of safety.

Initially the role will be on a day-shift basis while training is undertaken, and upon successful completion up to 12 weeks you will be required to work a 2-shift system of ‘earlies’ and ‘lates’ (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm)*.

*We also have a number of permanent night shift opportunities available (after initial day-shift training period), please state if you are interested in being considered for these roles.

£26,000 - £32,000 + Plenty of Overtime + Days based position + Excellent Company Benefits

Are you a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (mechanically biased) looking for a days based role joining a highly skilled team within an industry leading company where you can heavily increase your earnings through overtime?
