Job Description: About this Role:
There is an outstanding opportunity to join a reputable privately owned business offering a clear route of progression and varied projects in the region. Due to the recent successful appointment on Network Rail’s CP6 framework my client are looking to appoint an additional Site Manager to take ownership of a number of schemes or larger single action projects as the principal contractor.

The framework covers the Wessex Route of the rail network, starting at London Waterloo the projects will be delivered on the main routes across the South Coast including Basingstoke, Guildford, Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth.

The role will consist of managing the construction of projects including electrification & plant; geotechnical work (drainage, embankments etc); structural repairs; stations and building enhancements. Typically the projects will range between £250k – £10 million but throughout the duration of the framework there will be opportunities to work on major projects up to £50 million.

The ideal candidate will have a main contractor background and very good understanding of civil engineering projects – rail experience is not essential but favourable.

Duties will include:

Liaising with the client (Network Rail) and all stakeholders in progress meetings
Take responsibility for design development throughout pre-construction and delivery
Advising on the construction methodology with the client and designers
Programming with MS Projects and monitoring the work completed is in-line with the programme
KPI management and internal risk & opportunity reporting to senior management
Writing construction phase plans
Assist writing the scope of works and procuring the sub-contractors with Quantity Surveyors
Work closely with the commercial team to ensure that costs are managed to hit budgets and maximise profit

Job Description: A local authority in Swindon is recruiting for a Homeline Reponse Officer to take calls from the pull-cord response system in vulnerable tenants homes and visit the homes to assist tenants.

The Role
The focus of the role is to assist with the provision of a 24-hour comprehensive emergency call system for the elderly, special needs and chronically sick clients in their own home.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Respond to calls for assistance and co-ordinating an emergency response. Key Accountabilities
*Responding to emergency calls. In most cases, this will require a visit to the client's property, which must be carried out as quickly and safely as possible. In appropriate circumstances, gain entry to dwellings to assist clients. (Including defibrillation).
*If the subscriber is ill or injured, carry out necessary first aid and make the subscriber as comfortable as possible and co-ordinate appropriate emergency and/or welfare response

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience in a supported housing role and have an excellent phone manner with clear-spoken English. You will need a clean and enhanced DBS as you will be entering other peoples' homes and a driving license with access to a vehicle for travelling to the clients.

The Contract
This is a full time role on an initial 3-month contract, with a good chance of being extended. This is going to be 37 hours per week, initially during the day but after short training will involve an overnight shift every 5 days approx.

Job Description: Senior Estimator

Role Definition

This individual will be working closely with all other disciplines throughout the company to ensure that high quality consistent Signalling estimates are produced. They will work closely with Project Manager & the Bid Manager on larger bids and in parallel be producing smaller estimates and variations to existing contracts. The job covers the collation and checking of estimates from multidisciplinary teams which are to be prepared in all offices. This role takes guidance from and reports to the Estimating Manager.

Key Duties

* Responsible for the effective management of all their allocated estimates from initial enquiry through negotiations to submission of final offer, including determination of the appropriate structure of the estimate.

* Input of estimate data into the estimating database (RIB or equivalent) and checking this data for consistency, errors, omissions and accuracy.

* Large schemes require close liaison with the Bid Manager, Project Manager and Project Team. The Estimator, however, remains responsible for managing the pricing process; evaluating, assessing and co-ordinating inputs from all other costing disciplines, ensuring high levels of consistency and quality.

* Input and direction into the project plan, and the establishment of the appropriate pricing structure aligning with the company Work Breakdown Structure and Tender Template

* Challenging estimates in multidisciplinary team review panels.

* Involvement in tender pricing presentations to the board and the client as required.

* Involvement in subsequent negotiations with the client encompassing financial and commercial considerations.

* Analysing current and historical data to justify costs and pricing accuracy and competitiveness.

* Creation of reports for presentation to Executive and Director level reviews.

Measures

* A good grounding in the requirements for engineering activities, customer, national and international standards and procedures as part of the overall project lifecycle.

* Experience in the development and implementation of project delivery programmes.

* Strong computing skills especially regarding databases and MSExcel.

* Financially and commercially aware.

Specific Skills/Tasks

Essential:

* Have experience of producing multi-disciplined high value, high quality tender submissions – This ideally would be the experience of Estimator / Senior Estimator duties working under own initiative or part of a team.

* Have detailed knowledge of methods and outputs for undertaking rail related activities. – This would normally be firsthand-construction knowledge gained in a major Rail Discipline. Ideal choice would be Railway Signalling, Civils, E&P or PWAY (or a combination).

* Have a Technical background in a relevant discipline Ideally Signalling, but should be prepared to work on other rail related disciplines where required e.g Civil, Electrical, or Permanent Way Engineering – See above the ability to be flexible and a willingness to tackle other disciplines within rail and outside of rail is a must.

* Have knowledge of Network Rail forms of contract and their interaction with other standard forms Commercially aware and highly numerate – The ability to participate in Commercial and Pricing Strategy is desirable, however the pre-requisite for this role is an individual that can read and understand a Contract and assess where the main commercial opportunities / risks would arise.

* Have the ability to communicate complicated financial and contractual issues to senior management. – Would need to be able to discuss at Senior Commercial Manager Level, supported by a Tender Commercial manager but still be required to Understand and communicate these issues especially at Tender Settlement / Finalisation meetings.

Desirable:

* A minimum of 5 years’ experience within engineering teams in a main line or metro project delivery company for the design period of the project lifecycle.

* Willingness to travel to other offices and possible Client offices.

* The ability to work alone in a high-pressure environment.

* Strong customer focused skills, understanding that we are the face the client sees.

* Minimum of HNC or HND qualified in relevant engineering technical or commercial discipline is desirable but not essential as experience will be taken into account.

* Signalling Design and / or Systems Engineering experience, preferably with large signalling schemes.

* Comfortable with operating at a senior level as part of the Tender and Estimating Team

Job Description: Bank Care and Support Assistant – Temporary position for up to 6 months

Shaftesbury Court, Trowbridge based at Briggs Lodge Care Home, Devizes

£8.75 to £9.02 per hour (dependent on qualifications)

We are seeking a Bank Care and Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Working as part of the Supported Living team at Briggs Lodge, you will help support 15 adults with primarily physical disabilities and learning disabilities. If you want to make a positive impact to people’s lives, this is a great opportunity to come and work within a friendly, hardworking and resident-focused team.

The role of Bank Care and Support Assistant will include:

* Working in a small team to support 15 residents

* Key working with one individual to support them in setting out a care and support plan

* Helping residents to get up, washed and dressed

* Supporting residents to go to into the local community e.g. going to the cinema, visiting friends and attending doctors appointments

* Following care plans and writing comprehensive care notes

Skills and experiences:

* Ability to work well both as part a team and on own initiative

* Prior experience delivering personal care

* Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of residents

* Excellent organisation skills

* NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable

* A full, current driving licence and access to your own car is desirable due to the location of this scheme
