Job Description: Role: Senior Data Centre Engineer
Location: Malvern area, Worcestershire
Salary: Dependent on experience
The Role:
* Design, configure and deploy Data Centre and onsite server-based systems in line with the employer’s designs
* Assist the Sales team on technical projects and requests from the customer
* Ensure the customer SLAs’ are met for deployments
* Maintaining a consistently high level of service delivery
* Serve as an escalation point for the Support team in regards to Data Centre technology incidents and requests
Key Responsibilities:
* Deploy technical projects and bespoke configurations on customer premises (remote or on-Site).
* Act as a technical lead for site deployments
* Troubleshootingtechnical investigationsroute cause analysis
* Assist the Project Manager with change requests in regards to your deployments.
* Perform and Process technical surveys and audits
Documentation
* Identify areas where processes can be improvednewly implemented (Internal and Customers specific)
* Update/maintain Data Centre documentation and procedures
* Ensure sufficient logs/detail is collected for technical escalation or reassignment to 3rd Party providers
* Liaise with 3rd parties where necessary to ensure an efficient resolution to incidents/requests are achieved within the contractual SLA
Reporting
* Assist with monthly activity reports and weekly updates on Project Deployments.
* Liaise with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed within the estimated time scale
Education/ Experience:
* Cisco certifications are desired (Should be current and valid)
* Cisco CCNA Data Centre highly desirable
* Working towards or obtained Cisco CCNP Data Centre qualifications
* Cisco CCNA and or CCNP Routing and Switching highly desirable
* VMWare VCP 5/6 highly desirable
Additional Requirements:
* Person would need to be able to travel and spend time away from home for short periods of time
* Have a clean valid UK driving license
* Willing to commute to our office in Malvern for the initial period of employment or relocate, homeworking available following the employee probationary period for candidates whose commute to the employer’s office would be over one hour
Skills/ Knowledge:
* A good understanding of ITIL Process
* A good understanding of Data Centre, Azure and or AWS technologies
* A good understanding of Data Centre management applications
* A strong knowledge of the Cisco Data Centre, VMware, Azure (and or AWS) and the Microsoft Server portfolio
* Ability to deploy and maintain Cisco, VMware and Microsoft products according to the appropriate guidelines:
