Job Description: To report to the project manager and undertake all works associated with and including

the surveying and planning of optimal fibre optic (FTTP/FTTH) routes for the client. In time

this may include the organisation and management of multiple operatives and work streams.

The main duties include the responsibility for the following:

Þ Attending sites to determine the best installation route for fibre optic network

lines. Understanding and surveying existing fibre optic network infrastructure

including ducts and potentials for upgrades.

Þ Surveying fibre routes through buildings and MDU’s.

Þ Interpreting telecom design blueprints and construction maps.

Þ Completing survey documentation job packs: ISP pathways, drawings, address

listings, bill of materials, confirmation pictures, construction plans and project timescales.

Þ Carrying out area surveys to ascertain whether any obstructions will prevent a successful installation.

Þ Meeting with clients to resolve any issues preventing the project receiving approval to move forward.

Þ Identifying customer networks and reviewing proposed methods of construction to ensure that all requirements are compliant.

Þ Completing all necessary steps to ensure that wayleaves, permits, re-routes, timescales and agreements are obtained correctly.

Þ Planning civils works for FTTP where required.

Þ Competently utilising various design software packages such as GIS, Visio, CAD to create professional job packs.

Skills knowledge and aptitude

Þ Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Þ Excellent communication skills at all levels

Þ Ability to read CATV or telecom construction blueprints

Þ Understanding of routing of telecom wiring from point to point

Þ Understanding of logistics involved in all civils work inherent in network installation

Þ Understanding of legislative and regulation requirements, including but not limited

to, wayleaves, permits and associated agreements

Þ Ability to manage and coordinate works for multiple team members

Qualifications and training – Essential

Relevant PIA surveying qualifications, including, but not limited to:

Þ SA001 Safety Overhead

Þ SA002 Safety Underground

Þ S5 PIA Pole Surveying

Þ S6 PIA Duct Surveying

Þ S11 FTTP for Surveyors

Qualification and Training – Desirable

Þ Unit 2 Street Works

Experience

Þ Previous experience working on fibre optic network development projects.

Þ Specifically, the surveying and planning of potential FTTP/FTTH networks is

essential. A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required.

Þ Previous experience operating laser range finders and measuring wheels.

Þ Experience working as part of a team and coordinating works for multiple operative (desirable)

It is based in Chipping Norton and offers an alternative curriculum to students aged from 11 – 16 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.

Job Description: Our client provides IT Support within schools and businesses. They are seeking a Trainee IT Support to be based between customer's sites and their help desk in Woodley.

The role

Monitor the internal ticketing systems at customer's sites, completing basic support requests where appropriate
Create user accounts, manage permissions and passwords
Provide telephone and email support to customers
Support the in-house IT team with basic requests (ie. Changing printer toner, replacing cables, setting up projectors, moving computers etc.)
Maintain our high standards particularly regarding customer communications and response times
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current operating systems and standard software packages, including both Microsoft Windows and Mac OSX
